A whole new slate of fresh programming easily gave CBS a wide lead over its competitors.  The network dominated with both the viewers and the demos:

8pm

• Survivor (14.47 million, 4.513 in 18-49 demo) was steady with last week.
• Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? (8.97 million, 2.5/7) was up about 300,000.
• An hour-long episode of The Office* (2.7/8) drew 5.87 million.
• Ugly Betty* (1.4/4) scored 4.97 million.
• Smallville (3.84 million, 1.5/4) was up about 1 million.

9pm

• With 19.79 million viewers, CSI (6.1/16 in 18-49) was the evening’s hottest ticket.
• Don’t Forget the Lyrics (7.53 million, 2.7/7) was up about 800,000.
• Grey’s Anatomy* (2.6/7) came in third with 7.18 million.
• 30 Rock (5.58 million, 2.8/7) was slightly down from last week.
• Supernatural (3.2 million, 1.2/3) saw an increase of about 1 million.

10pm

• Without A Trace (4.0/12 in 18-49) topped the hour with 15.13 million.
• The Saturday Night Live special (2.7/8) entertained 5.72 million.
• Private Practice* (1.7/5) rounded off the hour with 4.75 million.
