As I told you several weeks ago, actress Sarah Wayne Callies is no longer a fixture of FOX’s Prison Break. Although many were still holding out hope, the proof was handed to us last night a la Seven-style.
And while it is upsetting to know the producers wanted to kill Tancredi off at all, Prison Break‘s executive producer claims her demise didn’t have to come that soon. According to an interview with TV Guide, Matt Olmstead said they wanted Callies to appear in a number of episodes in hopes of giving her a proper goodbye. They unfortunately did not expect Callies to opt out. While they were surprised by her response, Olmstead does acknowledge she may have felt ‘jilted’ by her untimely death.
Fans may feel better knowing that her exit wasn’t originally in the plans; the storyline was later deemed necessary for the season’s plot development. (That’s what happens when you stretch a one-season show too far.)
