The cast and crew of have barely stopped to rest since Season 1 ended last spring. Numerous press junkets have kept the stars of the series busy, which is good news for Gleeks.

After the runaway success of Season 1, there’s lots more Glee to come. The writers and producers are looking ahead to the show’s future - far, far ahead. Co-creators and Ian Brennan spilled details about what fans can expect in upcoming seasons of Glee. One problem they’re already thinking about: High School only last four years. “We’ve sort of mapped out the first four years with this original cast,” Murphy revealed. Now, let’s figure out a way to keep them on the show for ever.

New Directions may also take their sound global in future seasons. “The thing about the show is, you have set competitions that are true. There are sectionals and nationals,” Murphy explained. He added that the crew hopes to “go to Copenhagen or Moscow for international competitions.”

Glee will continue with its regular weekly format, where each new episode is a new theme. The first episode of Season 2 is titled “Auditions.” Religion and spirituality will be explored in the third episode.

Murphy also revealed more details about the -themed episode, which is taking on epic proportions with the press. The episode will be an unconventional tribute, different from the Madonna and Lady Gaga episodes which aired in Season 1. He also let it slip that Britney’s won’t be the only tribute of the season. All he’ll reveal on that score is that the artist is “big,” and they’ll appear on the post-Super Bowl episode (that’s huge). Meanwhile, it’s already been announced that Susan Boyle will appear on a Christmas-themed episode.
