Southland Abruptly Canceled Before Premiere
The Beautiful Life may have been pulled after only two episodes, but it least it had a chance to air.
After enduring a premiere date change and a casting shuffle, Southland has been canceled altogether. The network made the last minute decision just two weeks before Season 2 was set to begin.

While it’s unclear why the program was axed, executive producer John Wells hopes to find a new home for the series. “I’m disappointed that NBC no longer has the time periods available to support the kind of critically acclaimed series that was for so many years a hallmark of their success,” Wells said. “We remain extremely proud of Southland and are actively looking for another home for the series.”
Dateline NBC will be used to fill in the Friday 9:00 PM hole.
