The CW has unveiled yet another new promo for their upcoming spinoff 90210 - and this TV spot gives us exactly what we want. And what do we want? Shannen Doherty!

It’s only 10 seconds long and Doherty only says two words - but it’s enough to whet the appetite for much more. Shannen-as-Brenda-Walsh offers up a coquettish grin as the voice-over intones “…an icon returns.” You’re right about that.

I was obsessed - obsessed - with 90210’s parent program, Beverly Hills, 90210, but only for one reason. This reason is of course named Shannen Doherty. When the Brenda Walsh character departed from the show, so did I. This was way back in 1994, in case you forgot. The show would not end until 2000, but my devotion died the day it was announced Doherty was off the show.

The ratings for the series steadily declined after Doherty’s departure. She has been abysmally absent from the spotlight since the 90s, appearing in some reality gigs in the last few years. Now, she’ll finally return to the role that made her famous. How many millions will tune in just to see her?
