Rescue Me to End in 2011

Some good news and bad news for followers of Rescue Me. The FX series about New York City firefighters has just been granted a 7th season. Unfortunately, that will also be the program’s last.
The timing of the show’s end has been carefully thought out. The final hours will air in 2011—the year we
commemorate the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
“Within the next couple of weeks, we’re going to begin shooting the last 19 episodes, which will be the final two seasons of the show,” co-creator and executive producer Peter Tolan said.
Rescue Me‘s current season will wrap on up on September 1.
