Taylor Swift, who was very elegant in a long, sparkling formal, arrived to the red carpet in a horse-drawn carriage. Sporting a beautiful hairdo, Taylor looked great all-around. She remained calm and cool when rapper Kanye West made the startling decision to jump up on stage and interrupt her acceptance speech, proving that great fashion does indeed help the wearer maintain peace of mind.
Beyonce, by contrast, looked a little strange and out of place in a short red getup that was neither classy nor a great choice. The short skirt and ruffled bodice left far too much flesh exposed. Frankly, Beyonce can draw plenty of eyes without skimping on the fabric.
Lady Gaga was absolutely ridiculous in the black, gold and feather ensemble she chose to wear down the red carpet. Even her strange fashion choices don’t deter male admirers…and don’t worry, she’s “just friends” with date Kermit the Frog
Pink looked very fun and stylish in a simple black and silver sheath. She wore few accessories to keep her look simple and sweet. The only problem was that she wore the same frock as Shakira, a huge faux pas in any red carpet event.
Buzz Aldrin, who inspired the moon man statuette, was on hand at the pre-party to announce the Breakthrough Video Nominees and award-winner. Looking very stylish and highly age-appropriate in a classic pinstripe suit, Aldrin (pictured here with his wife) remained entertaining throughout his short segment.
Alicia Keys chose to appear in an odd black dress with silver circles all over it, a huge mistake. This dress was neither formal enough nor stylish enough for Keys, who’s far too pretty to make such blunders.
Jennifer Lopez’s look was spot-on in a short, shiny pink number that was both mature and sexy - perfect for a hot mom like J-Lo.
