Octuplets’ Grandfather Sits Down with Oprah

We’ve heard from both Nadya Suleman and Angela Suleman. Now it’s time for the octuplets’ grandfather to speak.

In an interview to air next Tuesday, Ed Suleman admits to Oprah that he - like many others - has doubts about his daughter’s sanity. “Now I’m no psychiatrist, but I question her mental situation,” Suleman stated. And though he considers Nadya’s actions to be “absolutely irresponsible,” the 67-year-old is seeking ways to raise funds for all 14 children. Suleman currently lives in the same home as his ex-wife, Angela, and contributes to the family by working as a contractor in Iraq.

When asked about the website created for monetary donations, Ed makes a plea on behalf of the whole family: “I say to everybody now: People, we do need help. Do not punish my daughter for what she had done and and do not punish the babies, because they were given by God.”
