While there’s a good chance Jack Shephard will be still on the island when Lost finally wraps, there’s one place we know Matthew Fox won’t be: on television.

According to the actor, he’ll be leaving the boob tube to test out other waters. “I’m either going to make movies with filmmakers I want to work with or I’ll be doing something else entirely,” Fox claimed.

And though it’s reasonable to think he could make a living off on the big screen, Matthew’s decision appears to be family-driven. After six years on both the ABC drama and FOX’s Party of Five, the married father of two is eager to dictate his schedule.

So will he be kicking back in Hawaii until his next job comes up? No - but he won’t be in California or New York either. Fox says his family will be moving to the Pacific Northwest. “My family will move to Oregon, back to the country I love,” he revealed. “I miss the four seasons climate. We’re building a house up there and I’ll be closer to my brothers and my mother. Our kids will be closer to their first cousins.”

Season 6 of Lost kicks off Tuesday night on ABC.
