Hanes won’t be making any more commercials with Charlie Sheen anytime soon.

The advertising campaign featuring the actor has ended, which a spokesman for the company says is “pretty standard, straightforward” when “somebody who’s in your commercial is arrested on suspicion of something of this magnitude.” He’s referring of course to the recent domestic disturbance between Sheen and his current wife, a highly-publicized and very messy bit of scandal.

“Given the publicity, it makes sense not to air those ads,” the Hanes rep explained. They’ve been stopped since December 28, which is almost directly after the news of the scandal broke. Some of the print ads will continue to appear until they’re stopped this spring - but not for lack of trying on the company’s part. “Unfortunately, the production schedule of those publications do not allow us to pull those ads,” explained the Hanes rep.

Sheen was arrested on December 25 after wife Brooke claimed he tried to kill her, an action which Sheen denies. Charlie Sheen’s rep offered no comment on the recent decision made by Hanes.
