Glee Cast Talks Emmy Nods and Season Premiere
Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Jesslyn Gilsig and Cory Monteith were just a few of the Glee cast members who walked the red carpet this week for a TVAcademy event.
Lea Michele (Rachel Berry) and Jayma Mays (Emma Pillsbury) discussed the frocks they’ll wear for the upcoming Emmy awards (Glee scored a jaw-dropping 19 nominations). Michele, who is up for a Best Actress statue, is going for a look that’s “different” from her previous Golden Globes attire. Mays joked that she might look for her red carpet gown at Ross Dress for Less. She says her “gorgeous” husband is “the perfect accessory.”
Other cast members also discussed their dates. Chris Colfer (Kurt Hummel) is bringing his parents, an act Cory Monteith might mimick. He initially said he will probably take his mom, then grinned and added, “Maybe I’ll bring a cute girl to the Emmys.” Ask Lea!

Matthew Morrison (Will Schuester) is looking forward to sharing screen time with John Stamos. He joked with press that he “might have to dip my knuckles in some broken glass and go take him out.” Cue the writers, stat!
Jenna Ushkowitz and Heather Morris (Tina and Brittany, respectively) dropped a few exciting hints about the first two episodes of the second season, which premiere in September. Both girls are eagerly anticipating the Britney Spears episode, having idolized the singer as teenagers. Neither would reveal whether or not the Pop Princess will put in an appearance on the show, though Ushkowitz enthused about the quality of the first two scripts for the season.
