Fewer Heroes Episodes Ordered for Fall

Heroes will be brought slightly down to size next season.
Although no official announcement has yet been made about the show’s future, sources say the NBC series will air again. Just not as many times as before. According to Advertising Age, execs are considering an 18-20 episode order. That would be down from this year’s 25 hours.
While some might consider this to be a blow for the program, many weren’t sure the declining program would return at all. Actor Adrian Pasdar (Nathan Petrelli), in the meantime, thinks the shortened stint will actually help.

“The pacing will be a little better — we were sometimes shooting three episodes at once, and there’s no way that something doesn’t slip through the cracks,” Pasdar told TV Guide. “It will be a more streamlined version of a show that’s very complex. It will still maintain its complexity, but I think it will be easier to follow, he added.
A smaller order could also mean better retention. Those episodes may also run closer together a la Lost or 24.
