Dancing with the Stars 7: Week 3 Loser

DWTS' Rocci DiSpirito and Karina Smirnoff

Last night on Dancing with the Stars, the viewers had a chance to say goodbye to an injured Misty May-Treanor. We also saw the nine remaining couples tackle the energetic Jive or the traditional Viennese Waltz.

By night’s end:

  • Brooke received the first 10 of the whole season. (She earned a 28 for her Waltz.)
  • Maurice and Warren both saw their best numbers thus far. (Greene a 24 for his Jive; Sapp a 25 for his Waltz.)
  • Cloris officially became the last person still scoring in the teens. (She got another 16 for her Jive.)
  • Susan, Rocco and Cloris remained the only three with an overall average under 20 points. (Lucci has a 19.75; DiSpirito is now at 20; Leachman is far behind at 15.75.)

And while it would have seemed logical for Cloris to be eliminated tonight (especially given her ridiculous performance on Monday), she once again managed to survive elimination. Chef Rocco DiSpirito - the competition’s second-lowest scorer -  was actually the one with his head on the chopping block (no pun intended).

But thanks to Misty’s untimely departure, we were all given reason to celebrate. The good news for Rocco? He would actually get to stick around for Week 4. The good news for viewers? Kim Kardashian was not given another chance to compete as rumored.

BTW - in the event you missed it last night, you can see Cloris’ performance for yourself below:
