Dancing With the Stars 12: Week 5 Elimination

With no clear leader, it’s been anyone’s game on Dancing With the Stars, and Tuesday’s elimination round was fraught with tension.
At the end of the Monday performances, three contestants were tied for the bottom slot. Popular dancer Ralph Macchio, who’s made it to the top of the leader board twice, found himself in last place along with model Petra Nemcova and reality star Kendra Wilkinson. Both women gained plenty of praise from the judges during their Monday performances, and the former Girl Next Door further distinguished herself by dancing the 1,000th competitive routine in show history.

Ralph Macchio was dismissed from elimination worry early in the results show, despite his last-place finish, and Kendra Wilkinson never seemed to be in trouble. The real shocker was Kirstie Alley’s name appearing in the bottom three list for results night; she’s never been in trouble once, and her behind-the-scenes moment with John Travolta was the highlight of the Monday episode. Chris Jericho, who’s had a little trouble standing out on the show, was also placed in the bottom three elimination hotseat along with last-place Monday finisher Petra Nemcova.
At the end, it was Petra Nemcova who received her walking papers. She gained the top of the leaderboard two weeks ago and won lots of glowing comments from the judges in recent performances, but somehow it just wasn’t enough to sway the voters during America Week.
