The Facebook fans have spoken, and actress Betty White has answered. At the start of this week, the campaign titled “Betty White to Host SNL (please?)!” had picked up a staggering 330,000 followers. In response, White told press she’s “just amazed” by it all.

“I would think by now that they’ve had such an overdose of Betty White that they’d be throwing rocks instead,” the actress, 88, joked amicably.

The public is doing anything but throw rocks. White has been extremely popular recently, and she may be so in-demand that she can’t fit SNL on her schedule. When asked if she would host the show, White said it would “depend on scheduling and all that.” She added, “But who knows? You can’t ever say yes or no or never - you just wait to see what happens.”

Betty White is not the creator of the campaign, which seemed to spontaneously spring up on the popular social networking site. “I have no idea where it started, but it just keeps growing,” she said of the public plea.
