Beauty And The Geek: ‘And The Winner Is…’

The B & G finale! Tonight, we will finally find out who is the winner of this season four of Beauty and the Geek as decided by America’s vote. We begin the episode with host Mike Richards welcoming us and taking a look back at the season’s evolution. My first thought is how horribly pieced together the crowd shots are - everyone nodding and smiling at each other and having chit-chat as if this is some sort of infomercial. The crowd looks way too interested in the most mundane things. Next, we are introduced to each of the runner-up teams. Either the make-up department did a great job of re-makeovering the geeks, or they’ve done a surprisingly good job of doing upkeep.

Join me after the jump to find out who is the winner of Beauty and the Geek season four!

Next, we take a look back at how much the rest of the people in the mansion disliked chunky Will. Will is absolutely mortified and apologizes for the way he acted. The crowd was overly sympathetic - nod, nod, nod, chat, chat, chat. Next we looked back at Dave and Jasmine’s transformation throughout the season. Then, we welcome them to the show. They haven’t seen each other in almost four months and are absolutely ecstatic to see each other. Dave flings her around and almost flips her skirt up. Almost.

They sit down on the couch with Mike and discuss missing each other and the fact that Dave didn’t want Jasmine as a partner. They then talk about Jasmine’s growth in the game and her newfound independence.  Mike reminds Jasmine that the challenge that was most difficult for her was the “picking up the bugs” challenge. He then gives Jasmine another chance to touch the tarantula that she was so afraid of during the game. She squeals like a pig as Dave helps by picking up the spider first - it crawls onto his back and Jasmine struggles to even touch it with one finger. She eventually does and we go to commercial - the crowd is uproarious … for some reason.

Next, we take a walk down memory lane and relive the trials and tribulations of Sam and Nicole - “the experiment evolved,” as they say. Then we welcome back the mimbo and his girl geek to the couch. We learn a little bit about how both players have brought what they learned back to their everyday life. Then Mike asks the million dollar question - is there a future for Sam and Rebecca. Supposedly they haven’t seen each other since. They are given the chance to go say hi and they do a little smooching and hugging, complete with cheesy lines like, “I missed those eyes.” Uck! The crowd is absolutely crazy over it - standing on their feet and cheering like they just realized they’d get a great deal on a set of blenders. Will and Rebecca also say there were no hard feelings towards Nicole for orchestrating their elimination, in fact, Will said it was brilliant.

Shay and Josh are our next flashback. They might be one of the cutest couples in the entire game - more like a married couple than anything. They get to come down and sit on the couch and discuss a couple things. Shay and Josh discuss who wears the pants in the relationship as well as how they each changed each other. We then look at the role Josh’s mom played in several portions of the season via telephone. Mike then reveals that he has actually brought Josh’s mom to the show and she comes out to meet Shay for the first time. Poor whipped Josh sits on the couch with his two mother figures. His real mother clearly isn’t fond of his makeover look, which says a lot about why Josh is a geek to begin with.

Sam is revealed as the winner of the “sexiest beauty” as voted for on cwtv.com. Shay’s Josh was voted as the “geekiest geek” with the other Josh coming in second. They discuss the fact that other Josh was voted out before the makeover, but it seems that Josh took it upon himself to get a makeover on his own - i.e. they did it backstage before the show. Josh was ridiculously hairy and then reveals that he shaved it all off because Rebecca promised during the show that if he did she would give him a full body massage. Surprise, surprise - they have a massage table. There are some phony shots of girls nodding in delight over Josh’s hairless body. Rebecca gives a half-hearted rub down while everyone laughs and we go to commercial.

We take a final look at the highlights of the season via videotape. It’s your basic “best of” montage with all the flubs and cute lines from all the guys and girls. Particularly enjoyable was Will and Dave’s discussion of duct tape being like The Force - it has a light side and a dark side, and holds the universe together. Nice one! Next we go back to the teams and learn a few things about their lives at home - who has a girlfriend/boyfriend, who is going back to school, etc. Other Josh’s girlfriend is in the audience - woof. Luke’s been doing some dating too and claims to go on 2-3 dates per week. The crowd shows a ridiculously fake amount of surprise. Jenn discuses being a real estate agent and redheaded Will says one sentence which makes his total sentences in this episode … well, one.

It is time to find out who is the winner. Mike gives each team an envelope. One has a check for $250,000 and one has nothing. They will open on three. One … two … after the commercial! Nice one Ryan Seacrest.

Dave and Jasmine are the winners!

It is finally time to declare a winner. America has voted, and the winner is ...

Dave and Jasmine!!! Streamers shoot off and all the beauties and the geeks rush the stage to congratulate the winners. Dave and Jasmine, the underdogs, have won a quarter of a million dollars. In a way, I’m really sad that I don’t get to watch this really cool group of people anymore. But the social experiment will return again in the spring. And when it does, I’ll be here to tell you about it. And until then … stay tuned.
