Army Wives Sets New High on Lifetime
Apparently Project Runway won’t be the only reason why Lifetime generates news this year.
This Sunday’s premiere of Army Wives drew in 4.5 million viewers. That’s the largest number the cable channel has seen for any of its original dramas in its 24-year history. The second season opener also saw a 67% increase in females aged 18-49.

And while I’m thrilled to see strong programming for women, Wives’ presence could have a negative effect on another another female-centered entry: In Plain Sight. The USA Network series, which just debuted on June 1, airs in the exact same time slot as its Lifetime counterpart. Then again, the dueling shows could just mean more eyes focused on cable overall.
Those wishing to catch up on Army Wives can watch the episodes for free thanks to the network’s website. Those wanting commercial-free versions can also check them out via iTunes.
