First Kristen Wiig, and now this?!
After rumors of his departure and the premiere of "Lazy Sunday 2," (with lyrics like "On these New York streets I hone my fake rap penmanship / That’s how it began, and that’s how I’m-a finish it," could it be any more obvious?), Andy Samberg has confirmed that he will not be returning as a cast member on Saturday Night Live next season.
“It’s an incredibly emotional and strange moment in my life. Obviously it’s not a huge shock, but I did officially decide not to come back," he said.
While Samberg claims that it was "one of the hardest decisions [he's] ever made," he revealed that he had some help from fellow cast member Wiig: "She kept saying it just feels like it’s her time. I connect with that. Something about it just feels like it’s the moment. My contract’s up and I did so much more than I ever thought I would ever even do."

Thankfully, Samberg also added that he wouldn't be opposed to him and the rest of his comedy troupe, The Lonely Island, contributing to future Digital Shorts on the show: “That’s the kind of thing that I really do hope happens."
Samberg next appears alongside Adam Sandler in That's My Boy -- in theaters June 15.
