After saying goodbye to Cassandra, the girls recouped. Diana dealt with being on the brink of elimination. Jael, still trying to distract herself from her friends death, let Felicia teach her a dance. Meanwhile, Renee struggled to understand why all the girls hated her. She honestly believed the girls were ‘looking for ways to be offended by her’. Who says models are clueless? Surprisingly, Renee then made a rapid about-face and pledged to stop being mean.

The girls later got their first Tyra mail for the week. The letter warned them to ‘strike a pose as if there’s nothing to it’. The next day they met up with posing instructor, Benny Ninja. Benny helped perfect the art of vogueing. He taught the girls how to exaggerate their moves and transition their poses quickly. They were even subjected to a mini-competition or ‘pose’ battle.
Later back at the house, Renee tried to keep her ‘Be Nice’ plan going. Instead of giving her the finger again, this time she braided Brittany’s hair. And for some reason, Brittany let her do it. Diana unfortunately was doubtful of Renee’s intentions. She believed that Renee was just trying to manipulate the weak girls.
The next day, the models arrived at a large building and once again met up with Benny Ninja. This time they were going to maneuver through a series of laser beams just like Catherine Zeta-Jones did in Entrapment. But there were two stipulations. One: they had to reach the goal in a set amount of time (if they hit a beam they had to start over again. Two: they had to strike poses while moving. The chosen winner would win a $40,000 diamond bracelet.
Aside from wanting the victory, Renee desperately wanted the bracelet for her and her husband. They were really broke and in need of the money. Unfortunately, she was the only one who couldn’t at least finish the task. Some, of course, were more graceful than others: Brittany was very catlike, Felicia had a dancer’s agility and Dionne started off by doing the splits. But it was Whitney who wowed Benny in the end. Not only did she have great body movement, but she never lost eye contact with him during her posing. Whitney was thrilled to win—especially since she still owned her dad $9,000 for her college education.
Renee was devastated by the challenge loss…and it didn’t take very long for her to revert back to her bitchy, whiny self. She then called her husband and told him to come pick her up. She didn’t want to be there anymore with ‘those stupid girls’. When she was later interrupted by some of her roomies because had been hogging the phone, she blew them off. Renee did eventually hang up in time to hear the girls talking smack about her again.
For their photo shoot of the week, the girls met Jay Manuel on a hotel rooftop. Their challenge was to try and ‘look alive’ even though they were going to be dead. Crime scene victim dead. For the first time in weeks, the majority of the girls rocked their photos. Jaslene - who had been ‘pushed off a roof’ - took great direction and maintained eye contact. Brittany improvised on her ‘electrocution’ shoot and chose to pose outside of the bathtub she was supposed to be in. Diana, who struggled last week, felt comfortable despite having had her ‘organs stolen’. Even whiny Renee looked beautiful in her ‘poisoned’ state. The only girl who seemed to have a problem was the usually confident Felicia. She struggled to keep a spark in her eye during her ‘decaptiation’. She assumed playing dead was much easier than it really was.
In a surprise twist of events, the judges decided that Renee had the best photo of the week. And to think we were so close to having her hubby take her away. They said her photos were straight out of a high-fashion magazine. And strangely enough, a new duo found themselves in the bottom two: Dionne and Felicia. Because the photos were generally strong this time around, the judges had to look at other factors…and they felt Dionne was still lacking a sense of presence. As for Felicia, they felt she had strong photos in the beginning of the competition but thought she had been slowing going downhill. In the end, believing she looked like Tyra Banks was apparently not enough. LOSER: Felicia
