The seventh season of is over, the winner crowned, the competition decided. So what’s next for Idol‘s two famous sons, David Cook and David Archuleta?

On his newfound Idol fans, Cook said “I can’t believe the level of support that has come out of me doing this crazy TV show.”

As for the future, the possibilities are wide open. “The sky’s the limit right now,” Cook enthused. David Cook, along with the rest of , will be on tour this summer. Look for them at large venues.

In American Idol, there are no real losers (okay, maybe those who never made it to the Top 12). Association with the show may always be claimed, careers may always be forged on the strength of this exposure alone. did not take the title, but he will probably enjoy the resulting fame in bucketfuls.

David Archuleta had positive words for his fans. They may be disappointed that he didn’t win, but he’s not. On his loss, Arch said, “I’m feeling great about it. The fact that David Cook won, I think he deserved it so much.” And for the sixty-thousand dollar question, just what will an Archuleta album sound like? “I’d love still to do the pop thing, just because I’m still a teenager, and on the show, I was getting a little mature with my songs, even though I love to do that stuff.” Archuleta would “like to do some fun stuff, along with songs that have more meaning to them.” Translate: message songs.

Sorry, ladies, but Arch isn’t looking to date anyone just yet: “I just wanna be able to focus on music,” he said, “I’m not really mature enough to understand those feelings yet.”
