90210 Secret Out: Is This The End?
The biggest 90210 mystery was finally revealed last night, settling a lot of questions among fans of the parent series. But now that we all know the identity of the father of Kelly Taylor’s baby, are we going to keep watching the show?

In a tense parking lot night scene, Brenda Walsh and Kelly Taylor squared off on the subject of Sammy, four-year-old son to Garth’s Taylor. At the end of the scene, Shannen Doherty-as-Brenda Walsh spilled a whole pile of beans: not only is the father one Dylan McKay, but Brenda accused Kelly of still being in love with him.

And my heart sank. All along, I wanted to believe the father was Steve. Early hints were dropped that it might be Brandon. But in the end, I think we all knew it would be Dylan. Only he would remain out of the picture while Kelly raised their son alone - long-time fans wouldn’t accept such behavior from Steve or Brandon. At the same time, I think I always held out hope that somewhere in a mythical TV world Brenda and Dylan were happy together. Instead, she’s apparently the only one of the three Beverly Hills, 90210 girls who doesn’t have a baby. Maybe she’s still hung up on Dylan, too?
At any rate, we’ll probably never know. Doherty’s episodes finish out next week with her last appearance, and Garth will remain on the series for several more episodes before she, too, will disappear. Luke Perry, Jason Priestley and Tori Spelling all say they won’t get involved, and that pretty much leaves us with the new cast and new story lines.
And do we care enough about them to keep watching 90210 without the promise of more Brenda, Kelly and all those others we really want to see?
