The Super Bowl has gotten in this tradition the past few years of besting the previous year’s halftime show. So, what to do after the Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney have taken the stage? Time to turn to his royal purpleness, Prince. That may not get too many football fans jazzed, but I for one think it will make for a lively halftime showing. Hey, I grew up on Prince in the 80s, and while I haven’t been a loyal follower, I do think he has kept his sound interesting enough over the years to maintain a tremendous fan base. His recent five Grammy nominations only make the star that much sweeter. I saw him on Saturday Night Live last season and he was amazing, so I think his gig at the Pepsi Super Bowl XLI will keep me from changing the channel at halftime.
