NBC Offers Plenty of Summer Reality Programming

NBC LogoSigh. The reality show possibilities have really taken off, huh? Hold on, because NBC is promising to serve up loads of reality this summer with the return of America’s Got Talent, Last Comic Standing and The Biggest Loser, plus Age of Love, a new dating show. To shake things up a bit, the three returning shows will have new hosts. You may have already heard that Jerry Springer will be filling Regis Philbin’s shoes on Talent, beginning on May 29th at 9 p.m. After a two hour debut, the show moves to Tuesday at 8 p.m. Last Comic Standing finally brings in a fresh host to replace Anthony Clark—and although I’d rather see Jay Mohr come back, instead hosting duties go to Bill Bellamy. To which I say “eh, could be worse.” Comic starts its fifth season on June 13th at 9 p.m. The Biggest Loser will now be hosted by soap opera queen Alison Sweeney (taking over for Caroline Rhea). No word yet on when the show will start. And finally, a new dating show called Age of Love debuts on June 18th at 10 p.m. with Mrs. Kelly Ripa (Mark Consuelos) hosting.
