Friday Ratings: Game Shows Trump ABC

Without a doubt, Charlie Gibson’s exclusive interview with Sarah Palin was the most-watched event on Friday night. Unfortunately, the ALMA Awards wasn’t. That ratings combination allowed FOX to take a win in both categories this weekend.
8pm
- Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? (6.9 million, 1.8/6 in 18-49) slipped by 700,000.
- Ghost Whisperer* (1.5/5) scared up 5.7 million.
- Friday Night Smackdown (4.2 million, 1.3/4) let 500,000 get away.
- The 2008 ALMA Awards (1.0/3) turned in 3.8 million.
- America’s Toughest Jobs (1.1/4) looked weak with 3.4 million.
Programming Insider
9pm
- A second hour of Ghost Whisperer* (6.2 million, 1.6/5 in 18-49) did better than the first.
- Don’t Forget the Lyrics (1.7/6) had 5.7 million humming along.
- Dateline (5.4 million, 1.6/5) added on 1.9 million.
10pm
- Charlie Gibson’s hour-long chat with Sarah Palin (2.1/7 in 18-49) pulled in 7.9 million for 20/20.
- Numb3rs* (6.2 million, 1.5/5) did 2.6 million better than the finale of Swingtown.
