ABC Pulls Mel Gibson Miniseries
Well, in light of Mel Gibson’s recent incident, it doesn’t come as much of a surprise that ABC has canceled the miniseries that Gibson was working on about the Holocaust. Even Mel’s best attempt at an apology couldn’t smooth the waters enough to keep the series afloat. For those living in a bubble—or just disinterested in entertainment news—Gibson was arrested on suspicion of a DUI early Friday morning. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he mouthed off at the arresting officer, spouting anti-Semitic remarks. He made a public apology on Saturday, stating that he has entered rehab to treat his alcoholism. An ABC spokeswoman said that they canceled the project because they had not seen a first draft of a script in two years, but made no mention of Gibson’s incident.
