Description
27 year old Tony Romo has found a team to spend the next 6 years with. And getting 67.5 million dollars to do so doesn’t hurt.

On Tuesday the quarterback Romo signed a 6 year deal worth 67.5 million dollars. As of this year, Romo has proven his worth, throwing for 1984 yards, with 16 touchdowns and an average of 283.4 yards per game.

“I never really thought this was a goal along the way. I still don’t necessarily perceive it as a goal, but it’s something really neat that I get to experience,” said Romo.

Romo, who had a 95.1 quarterback rating last year, said he plans to remain humble after signing a deal that would make him the third highest paid quarterback in the NFL. He’s said to even have plans to keep his apartment and roommate.

“It’s special just to be a part of this. The best feeling by far is that the organization, the Jones family, our coaches and everyone say, `Hey, you’re our guy. You’re the guy we want to go to the next level with. We want to get back to the Super Bowl around here and win these things.’ That means everything, more than the money ever could,” Romo added.

When Romo arrived with the Cowboys he beat out Quincy Carter, Chad Hutchinson, Vinny Testaverde and Drew Bledsoe for the starting quarterback job. The Dallas front office clearly has confidence in him, it should be quite exciting to see if he can become the league’s next great quarterback. He’s well on his way.
