Lofton Returns To Cleveland
For the third time in his career, former Texas Ranger Kenny Lofton will be suiting up in a Cleveland Indians uniform. The last time Lofton played for the Indians was in 2001, alongside Jim Thome, Roberto Alomar, and Juan Gonzalez. That team finished first place in its division that year, and the Indians have the chance to do the same the same this year, with a 59-43 record thus far this season. Lofton’s proving age to be just a number this season, hitting .303 with seven big flies and 23 RBI’s.

This really is a terrific move for the Indians. One would figure that this would be one of Lofton’s last seasons in the MLB, and he not only gets to spend it on a winning team, but young Cleveland Indian Grady Sizemore will be able to learn from Lofton. Kenny also won’t have to play everyday for the Indians, with the extra rest, his performance will likely improve. The Indians improved their offense and defense with this move, and they only had to give up a Minor League Catcher. It was a good move.
