Tadahito Iguchi Is Now A Philidelphia Phillie

Tada Iguchi
This has been a busy week for trades. Scott Linebrink is now a Brewer, Kenny Lofton is now an Indian, and most recently Tadahito Iguchi is a member of the Philidelphia Phillies. The Phillies were prompted to make this move due to Chase Utley, the team’s star second baseman, breaking his hand after a delivery from Nationals pitcher John Lannan. In return, the Phillies sent prospect Michael Dubee to the Chicago White Sox.

Good move for the Phillies. Instead of resorting to starting a lesser player at second base for this month while Utley is out. Iguchi is a quality Major League player and should fill in quite nicely for Utley. This move makes sense as well for the White Sox. Getting a minor leaguer for Iguchi who is 32 years old makes sense for the sinking White Sox ship, who have now proven to be sellers this year for the trading deadline.
