Manu Ginobli
Manu Ginobli scored 30 points, and both Tony Parker and Tim Duncan scored 17 points en route to a 104-101 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. Francisco Elson also nabbed 11 boards in just 21 minutes of action. Although with just 2 games under their belts, the Spurs jumped out to an early first place lead in the Southwest division.

“I feel great right now. It seems to be paying off,” Ginobili said. “I don’t know what that means a few months from now, but right now I feel really fresh.”

The game was the first of the Grizzlies’ 2007-2008 NBA season, and wasn’t played badly by any stretch of the imagination. Rudy Gay scored 16 points with 6 rebounds, veteran Damon Stoudamire scored 18 and Pau Gasol scored 22. Though Mike Miller held his own defensively with 10 rebounds, Gasol didn’t have his best game in the paint with just 3.

“They executed and did what they were supposed to do,” Gasol said. “We didn’t finish a couple of actions that would have been important for us to get the lead down the stretch.”
