The NBA is considering buying the New Orleans Hornets in order to guide the sale of the franchise to another buyer, perhaps another city. The sale by George Shinn, majority owner of the Hornets, to minority owner Gary Chouest brought some optimism earlier this year, but the proposed sale has collapsed with Chouest rescinding his offer. The NBA would like to keep the team in New Orleans, but that would be up to the new owner, whomever that may be. However, the NBA will try its best to keep the Hornets in New Orleans. The same can't be said about superstar Chris Paul staying, however. His remaining with the team is likely tied to the ownership situation.
