Kyle Korver Traded To the Utah Jazz
After being benched in his return to the team, Gordan Giricek found himself traded today to the Philadelphia 76’ers for forward Kyle Korver. During one game Giricek had been pulled for making a game, at which point Utah Jazz head coach Jerry Sloane pulled Giricek from the game, and after an arguement sent Gordan to the locker room. Giricek may benefit from a change of scenary, at this point in the season he’s only averaging 4.3 points per game.
“We are excited about acquiring a player of Gordan’s ability, as well as an additional asset in the form of a first-round draft pick,” Sixers general manager Ed Stefanski said. “This move will provide us with increased salary cap flexibility this off-season and also allows us to continue our evaluation and development of the young talent we have on this team.”
This year the 6-7 Kyle Korver is averaging 10 points a game, but is lacking defensively, averaging just 2 rebounds a game. Korver has also struggled from 3 point range, having just a 35.2 percent completion from long range this season. However Kyle still has a good upside, he’s just 26 years old.
“We made a trade which we feel improves our team this year,” Utah Jazz president Kevin O’Connor said in a press statement.
