Dwayne Wade Wins Game For Heat With Buzzer Beater
It hasn’t exactly been a year to remember for the Miami Heat, and their 8-19 record will be the first to tell you. However last night when tied with mere seconds to go, Wade nailed a 20 foot jumper to give the Miami Heat the 104-102 advantage over the Utah Jazz. Dwayne had 20 points on the night and had help from Shaquille O’Neal who had 17 points and 10 rebounds.
“I just hope seven, eight, nine games from now, somebody will say, ‘Do you remember the bounce?”’ Heat coach Pat Riley said. “Something like that can propel you.”
The Utah Jazz are now 15-15 following the loss, and third place in the Northwest division. At the start of the second half the Miami Heat had a 16 point lead over the Jazz, so perhaps the victory was not so much uplifting as it was relieving.
“We had a tough time stopping them,” Jazz coach Jerry Sloan said. “But we did hang in there and give ourselves a chance at the end.”
