Diamondbacks Head To Colorado Down Two Games
The way the Diamondbacks are playing, its no surprise that their fans can’t sell out Chase Field. Scoring just two runs tonight, the Colorado Rockies took a 2 game advantage against the Arizona Diamondbacks with a final score of 3-2. The Rockies have yet to lose a game in the postseason.
The scoring began with a shallow single off the bat of Yorvit Torrealba, scoring Todd Helton. Doug Davis would limit the damage to just one run for the next 3 innings. In the third, Ubaldo Jimenez gave up a single off the bat of Chris Young, Doug Davis would score. Todd Helton would later hit a sacrifice fly, and Eric Byrnes hit into a fielder’s choice where a run scored. The Rockies got a rally going in the top of the 11th inning. Ryan Spilborghs hit a single right up the middle. Troy Tulowitzki flied out, but then Brad Hawpe managed a walk. Yorvit Torrealba hit a popup to first, then Jamey Carroll walked. Witht he bases juiced and 2 outs, Willy Taveras took up and in from Jose Valverde to put the Rockies up for good. Ryan Speier closed the game out in the bottom of the 11th. After the game Rockies manager Clint Hurdle said:
“We’re fundamentally sound, we pitch better, we find ways to win, that has played out very well. We’ve got nine straight road wins, four in the postseason, that speaks for itself.”
