Chase Utley gets number 32The “chase” is still on for Philadelphia Phillies 2B Chase Utley and every sportswriter is using that “chase” pun the world over.  In any case, Utley extended his hitting streak to 32 games on Monday afternoon, hitting a single in the sixth inning.

Florida Marlins starter, Josh Johnson, who gave up the hit was “on” against the Phillies, keeping them off balance for the seven innings that he pitched.  The hit for Utley was also a bit of a lucky one for him as the ball went off the glove of 2B Dan Uggla.  Utley goes for 33 on Tuesday night at the St. Louis Cardinals, who is throwing Jeff Suppan (8-5; 4.98 ERA) on the mound.  Utley has a .429 lifetime BA against Suppan in only seven at-bats, of which one hit was a home run.
