Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition Finally Drops For PSP

Rockstar’s latest offering is finally available for the PSP after being pushed back. The game is much like its bigger brothers with slight modifications such as a new quick race mode and wireless multiplayer. Overall the game seems to be just like the original version – slow load time and all. Racing fans of all ages will definitely not be disappointed when on the go with this game. Tackle on the career mode and trick out your ride or do a quickie whenever you want – no need to coax it either. The game is out now and can be yours in exchange for $49.99.

Philip “pt” Torrone gave a demo of how to hack the PSP, including the ones with the latest firmware on it, at Gnomedex. When when PSP came out, first version was 1.0 in Japan. People were interested in creating their own games. Sony then upgraded the firmware, and you wouldn’t be able to play homebrew games on the memory stick. Until a week and a half ago, your only option for running these apps was having a 1.0 firmware PSP. We are getting close to seeing UMDs dumped to Memory Stick.
You use an application called PSP Swap Tool. It tells you to put an app on one Memory Stick, and the other file on another. You insert the Memory Stick, and you can choose from a myriad of installed emulators. He scrolls through and finds a game he wants to play. He hits X to start it up, and then switches cards during the loading screen. The chess game starts up to a round of applause. He does it again, and this time starts the Commodore 64 OS on the PSP. One of the most famous games that sparked the FPS genre is coming to a mobile phone near you. Planned to be release on 3D enabled phones in Korea, ID has hired Bare Naked Productions to develop the application for mobile technology.

It was only a matter of time, but the fine folks at Killer-X and PSP-Dev have finally managed to get homebrew and emulation code running on PSPs with the version 1.5 firmware. Until now, would-be hackers would have to quickly swap Memory Sticks out of the PSP, increasing a chance that you could damage your rather expensive storage cards. This latest exploit allows everything to run from a single card, making this sort of grey-area gameplay open to far more people. If you’re running the 1.51 or 1.52 firmware versions on your PSP, you’re still out of luck until Sony’s digital signature is cracked, or some other loophole is found (like downgrading the firmware).

Playfeed Giveaway: SanDisk 1 GB Memory Stick Pro Duo

So, Gear Live turned one the other day and has hooked up Playfeed with a 1 GB Memory Stick Pro Duo to give away to a Playfeed reader. You see, while these Memory Sticks will work in just about any portable Sony device, we recognize that it isn’t the Sony Clie or digital cameras that are causing a mad rush for these bad boys. It is the Sony PSP, and the fact that people want to bring as much media with them as possible. That being the case, the video game site seems to be the most appropriate place to give this one away. Pac-Pix Nintendo DS Review

With so many people split on whether the Nintendo DS is a good system or not, one has to take a deeper look to see what all the fuss is about. The fact is, many compare the DS to the PSP, and based off of that comparison, say that the DS sucks. It just isn’t true. Once you get past the eye candy, it comes down to the software. Pac-Pix is an example of a game that can only be done on the DS, as well as an example of the ingenious ways to use the touch screen when a developer puts their mind to it. This is not new; however, many people were skeptical this actually works. It’s apparent now that this video actually works. While this video will not fix dead pixels, it will fix any stuck pixels you may have. This video is ripped from a DVD stores such as Best Buy give their customers who purchase LCD T.V.s - it rapidly flashes red, green, and blue frames on the PSP screen. The trick is to leave it running in a loop for several hours. Give it a try, after all what do you have to lose?

Black Sony PSP Earbuds, Remote And Charger

Sony has finally decided to release a pair of earbuds and a remote control for the PSP that actually match the system. This was one of our small gripes with the PSP during its pre-launch phase. These are the accessories that should have been packed in with the PSP, but I digress. They are also releasing a standalone battery charger, which lowers charge time when compared to charging the PSP directly. You can purchase the charger for $32 USD, and the buds and remote for $25 USD very soon.

Ridger Racers PSP Review

Right now we are in a bit of a quiet time in Playstation Portable land where we are waiting for the next batch of games to come out after the initial release of at launch game or near at launch games. WarioWare: Twisted! Review

Nintendo just released WarioWare Twisted! their latest sequel to WarioWare for Gameboy Advance. This is a totally slick collection of more insane and surreal mini-games but with a unique human-game interface. There was the original WarioWare game on Gameboy Advance then WarioWare Mega Party Games for Gamecube, next was WarioWare Touched! On Nintendo DS and now back to good old Gameboy Advance.
