First Downloadable Content For Forza 2 Available Tonight
Posted by Chris Pereira Categories: Downloadable Content, Driving, Microsoft, Xbox 360, Xbox Live,
Hitting late tonight (well technically, tomorrow, August 1) at 2AM PST will be a free Nissan car pack for Forza Motorsport 2, which includes the 2007 models of the Sentra SE-R, Altima, and 350Z. There will also be a single car that you can purchase for a measly 50 Microsoft Points (or $0.62) in the Peugeot 908. To celebrate the release of the free downloadable content, there will be a variety of events held by Nissan and Xbox.
The first of these activities will be a Nissan Sentra SE-R tournament on Xbox LIVE. In addition to the tournament, Nissan and Xbox will also be hosting an in-game customization contest, as fans utilize the incredibly deep livery system of “Forza Motorsport 2” to create unique and stunning paint jobs on their Nissan Sentra SE-Rs. The contest will be judged by a panel comprised of Turn 10 developers and Nissan representatives, as fans vie for the title of ultimate Nissan customizer.
Further details will be unveiled on ForzaMotorsport.net, and we’ll keep you up-to-date here at Playfeed. Check after the break for shots of both the Altima and Sentra. (That’s a 350Z above, in case you aren’t great at figuring that sort of thing out.)

Details On Gran Turismo 5 Prologue’s Online Features
Posted by Chris Pereira Categories: Driving, PlayStation 3, Sony,
The latest Famitsu magazine has an interview with Gran Turismo producer Kazunori Yamauchi, and 1UP has highlighted some parts of the story. Among other things, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will include two online modes – one with chat and one without. There will be “about” 40 cars and four courses with eight different layouts for those courses. (I smell reversed courses.) The game will feature 16 cars in offline races, but the number may potentially be only 12 when racing online.
For more details on the game’s integration with PlayStation Home and the My Page feature, check out the 1UP story.

Posted by Kyle Ulrich Categories: Driving, E3, PlayStation 3, Sony, Trailers,
Lost in the sea of hype surrounding Sony’s press conference at this year’s E3 was none other than Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. Rubbing shoulders with other heavy hitters at the keynote, Polyphony Digital’s new entry in the vaunted sim-racer franchise is already looking masterful. You’d think that there were only so many ways to make cars look good and realistic; it seems Sony’s in-house developer has found a new bag of tricks. Forza 2, eat your heart out.

Over on Gamerscore Blog, a list has been posted with all of the games being shown at E3 that will be available this year. Xbox 360 games, Xbox Live Arcade games, Games for Windows-branded titles, and Games for Windows Live-enabled games. It’s a lot to digest, and with big name games like BioShock, Halo 3, Mass Effect, Guitar Hero III, Sonic the Hedgehog (the original, don’t worry), Puzzle Quest, Company of Heroes: Opposing Forces… let’s just say there’s something for nearly everyone.

I’m going to come right out and say it: I’m coming away from Sony’s presentation more impressed than I was either Nintendo’s or Microsoft’s. They were very straightforward and showed exactly what we all wanted to see: the games.
In fact, this was one of the more impressive E3 press conferences in recent memory – check inside to find out why.

As with the Microsoft conference before it, I was confined to my hotel Wi-Fi to take in Nintendo’s E3 press conference. But, unlike Microsoft’s, I’m walking away thoroughly and utterly disappointed. I’m going to go ahead and spoil part of the full story from after the break: there was no mention of Smash Bros. being online. Me = worried much.
Set your expectations low before you view the rest after the break.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to attend E3 this year – instead, I’m on vacation in Cape Cod, using awful hotel Wi-Fi to watch streamed press conferences. Not the most glamorous way to take it all in, but exciting announcements, great games and new details are welcome no matter how you hear about them.
Here’s my personal transcription (in very brief form) of all the announcements and showings, along with some reflection on what Microsoft had to show.

SEGA sent us a listing of all the titles they plan on showing off at this year’s E3 Media and Business Summit, and it seems like they are betting on thirteen titles to turn heads this year. One of the more unique concepts stars Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, Virtua Fighter 5 with online play, and one we have our eyes on, the return of NiGHTS. You can take a peek at the full list after the break.

Need for Speed Video Teaser Shows Massive Damage
Posted by Chris Pereira Categories: Driving, Electronic Arts, Nintendo DS, Nintendo Gamecube, PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PSP, Trailers, Wii, Xbox, Xbox 360,
On the heels of EA’s new Madden video comes this brief look at the newest Need for Speed title, which we know next to nothing about - not a title or even the platforms it’ll be released on. The video is entitled “Damage,” and if you take a look at the video, you’ll agree that it’s an appropriate name. One of the features in the new NFS is apparently going to be the ability to rip your car to shreds in an accident, Burnout-style.
Like the Madden video before it, the game certainly looks pretty, but hopefully the game will play as well as the competition. As the video alludes, there apparently will be some sort of announcement on May 31 at the official Need for Speed website, and we’ll get word of whatever that might be to you as soon as it’s made available.
