So the Motorola “RAZRberry” rumors have turned out to be true. Details have come forth of Motorola’s Magneto powered smart-phone with a QWERTY keyboard and 1.3 MP camera. The device is codenamed ‘Franklin’. The phone will feature an EDGE connection (what, no UMTS?!) and 128 MB of ram for all your data intensive needs.

Next Version Of Windows To Include Support For RSS Feeds

Microsoft announced Friday that its next version of the Windows operating platform would include built-in support for Internet data feeds. Even though RSS isn’t currently in widespread use, Microsoft believes that in the future this increasingly popular way to get news will become a mainstay. Of course, we reported our take on this a few minutes after the Gnomedex announcement.
In the long-delayed Windows upgrade, code-named Longhorn and expected to be released late next year, an RSS icon will appear in the Internet Explorer Web browser to make it easy for people to find, much like Apple Computer Inc. has done with its Safari browser. Longhorn will store all data downloaded to a computer via RSS in a single place. It will maintain a central list of all of a computer user’s RSS subscriptions, from Web log entries to photos pulled from an online family picture gallery.

It seems as if Apple has something new in store, seeing as how they’re handing out invites to a special media event on July 7th. They have not disclosed what the event will be about, or even the location of the event, but some are speculating that it maybe be the release of iTunes 4.9 with podcasting support, while others think it might be new iPods - 2nd generation shuffles, 5th generation standards, or any combination of the above. A French newspaper even suggests that it may be to announce the new iTunes phone from Motorola. Anyone’s guess is good right now since Apple is keeping a tight lid on the details, so we’ll just have to wait until the 7th to see what the big deal is.

Actiontec was kind enough to send Gear Live one of their new 54mbps wireless game adapters for review.The wireless game adapter functions as an Ethernet to 802.11g bridge enabling you to get your game system (PS2 or Xbox) or other Ethernet enabled device online wirelessly. This crazy looking lamp, designed by Matty Salin, has a rather interesting function. By placing your hands on the lamp base, it will detect your heartbeat within 10 seconds and begin to pulse along with your heart. The idea is to amplify a usually inconspicuous biological function, and give the user a biofeedback handle with which to control it. The light is hypnotic, and after a while you can actually watch your pulse slow down by concentrating and relaxing. Leet.

Security company Secunia is warning that many major Internet browsers contain a vulnerability that could allow cybercriminals to steal personal information. The problem has to do with the fact that JavaScript boxes do not show where they originate, so users could be tricked into putting their information into a form they believe is from a trusted site. The browsers that are reportedly affected are latest versions of IE, IE for Mac, Safari, iCab, Mozilla, Mozilla Firefox and Camino. Opera 7 and 8 are affected, but not 8.01, according to Opera. Even though Secunia has labeled the problem as “Less Critical”, most companies are already trying repair the problem.
To take advantage of the flaw, a cybercriminal would have to direct a Web user from a malicious site to a genuine, trusted site such as an online bank, in a new browser window. The malicious site would then open a JavaScript dialog box in front of the trusted Web site, and a user might then be fooled into sending personal information back to the malicious site.

Actiontec provides a third party wireless game adapter at a price less exhorbatant than the first party counterparts. It really functions as an Ethernet to 802.11g bridge, enabling you to get your game system (PS2 or Xbox) or other Ethernet enabled device (TiVo or notebook) online wirelessly. It’s a very cool concept, but unfortunately the Actiontec has a few minor implementation issues. Check out the full review after the jump.
