Surface 2 with LTE

Microsoft has announced that it'll finally release the Surface 2 with LTE built in with 64GB storage capacity. Interested buyers will be able to pick up the updated model starting tomorrow from Microsoft Stores, Best Buy, and AT&T Wireless locations.

With the exception of the added LTE support, don't expect other changes in the Surface 2 hardware. You'll find a new SIM card slot located by the volume rocker, but that's it. Users will be able to use the LTE function as a mobile hotspot for their other devices as well. A year of free Skype calls to landline numbers and 200GB of OneDrive cloud storage is also thrown in.

You can order the Surface 2 with LTE here.

Amazon Prime increase

Amazon has announced that the cost of Amazon Prime will be increasing to $99 per year this morning (up from $79 per year,) the first time the service has seen a price increase since it launched nine years ago. The company cites increased fuel and transportation costs, alongside increased usage by Prime members, as the reason for the price bump.

Despite the price increase, Amazon Prime is still a fantastic service, introduced back in 2005, that provided unlimited free two-day shipping for millions of items, alongside Prime Instant Video, and the Kindle Owners' Lending Library. When broken down, the monthly cost goes from about $6.58 up to $8.25 per month, making the cost 26 cents more than the price of a monthly Netflix streaming membership.

The price increase goes into effect on April 17th, so if you aren't yet a Prime member, you can lock in the lower rate now.

If you're an Amazon Prime member, does the price increase turn you off from keeping your subscription?

Did you know that you can upgrade your Xbox One controller? In this episode, I walk you through the process of upgrading the firmware on your Xbox One controller, allowing you to take advantage of the tweaks Microsoft releases. You should check for a controller update whenever Microsoft releases a new Xbox One dashboard update. It takes a minute or two for each controller, and you must do each controller that you own individually. Check out the video for the full breakdown.

You can pick up an Xbox One now, along with additional controllers.

Apple TV 6.1

Alongside the iOS 7.1 update, Apple also released Apple TV update version 6.1, which offers a much easier way to hide unwanted app channels from the Apple TV home screen. After updating, all you need to do is highlight an icon, and press and hold the Select button until all the icons start wiggling. Then, head over to the one you'd like to remove, and hit the Play/Pause button, and then select Hide. It's gone! You can re-add any hidden channels by going into the Settings > Main Menu area.

The new method is much easier than the previous, where you'd have to navigate into your Settings menu to hide items. Now, you can do it right from the home screen.

If you haven't yet got the latest Apple TV update, navigate over to Settings > Software Update, and choose Update Software.

You can pick up an Apple TV from the Apple Store Online.

In this episode I show you how to upgrade the PCIe SSD storage drive found in the redesigned Mac Pro (2013) from Apple. Doing it yourself, you can end up saving a bunch of money (as opposed to paying Apple directly for the storage increases,) and it's one of the simplest upgrades you can perform yourself on the Mac Pro.

In order to perform the upgrade, you'll need a CR-VT8 screwdriver (here's a cheap set on Amazon) and a PCI-e replacement SSD module. That's it! It'll take you about five minutes (or less!)

Since a lot of people were curious about if the WWE Network would be available on Apple TV, and how it would look compared to the other platforms out there, I went ahead and put together this video walkthrough and review. There are a bunch of pros to using an Apple TV for the Network, but one caveat that can be seen as a con.

If you like what you see from the Apple Mac Pro, you can pick one up here from B&H Photo.

iOS 7.1 new features

Earlier today Apple released iOS 7.1, an update for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch that brings with it several major features and improvements. Some of the more notable additions include CarPlay, Siri enhancements, iTunes Radio improvements, and overall stability improvements for iOS 7 on the iPhone 4. If you're unfamiliar, CarPlay was unveiled last week at the Geneva Motor Show, and will be available in some 2014 model vehicles, bringing iOS 7-style functionality to the center console dashboard, allowing users to control things like Maps, Music, Messages, and other apps.

You can download iOS 7.1 now, and we've got the full list of all the changes, according to Apple, after the jump.
