BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe

BMW has announced a new four-door to its lineup in the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe. What you have here is what amounts to a 3 series BMW that has a tailgate rather than a proper trunk. The 4 Series Gran Coup is also half an inch longer and wider than the 3 series, and also and inch-and-a-half lower to the ground. Prospective buyers in the US can choose between the 428i GC model, which has a 2-liter 240hp turbo engine that can go from 0-to-60 in 5.7 seconds, or the 435i GC with a 300hp 3-liter inline-six that goes from 0-to-60 in 4.9 seconds. Pricing starts at $41,225.

Samsung Galaxy S4

It looks like Samsung is set to announce its new Galaxy S5 smartphone at the Samsung Unpacked 5 event on February 24th. It was previously expected that the Galaxy S5 would be announced at Mobile World Congress, similar to the S4 last year, but perhaps Samsung wants to churn out a new model a bit quicker this year.

Recent reports suggest that Samsung will align its Android devices a bit more closely with Google's vision, rather than in the grandiose fashion they've used in the past, focusing on superfluous features that weren't that exciting or usable in the real world. Of course, Samsung isn't saying anything, keeping the cat in the bag until February 24th.

Xbox One system update

The first significant Xbox One update is set for release on Tuesday, February 11th. Microsoft gave a few details on what gamers can expect from the new software, without going into too much detail on what all it entails. Here are three features you can look forward to on February 11th as an Xbox One owner:

  • The ability to see and manage your storage space. With this update, you will find it easy to find how much space your content takes up and better manage your content. You can also control your install lineup and more easily manage your download queue. We’ve separated My Games and My Apps into separate lists, so you can easily create separate queues for both. Now you can pick the order in which you want your content to load and we’ve added a boot progress indicator so you can better track updates while they load.
  • The battery power indicator is back! You can see it right on the home screen, so you can easily track how much battery life is left on your controller.
  • And, you will be able to use your USB keyboard with your Xbox One.

While we haven't been waiting with bated breath for USB keyboard support ourselves, we're sure there's many a gamer out there excited to see that update. For us, being able to view and manage storage is a big deal--especially for a console that prides itself on selling all titles on demand with a paltry 500 GB hard drive. Speaking of which, we're still waiting on the update that enables external USB storage.

After the February 11th update, there will be another one released on March 4th in anticipation for the release of Titanfall. That one will be focused on multiplayer matchmaking and the party system, making sure it's in top shape for the release of the big-name title. You can pre-order Titanfall now.

Jennifer LawrenceJennifer Lawrence's life has been turned into a comic book.

The X-Men: Days of Future Past actress' career from her breakthrough role in 2010 movie Winter's Bone to her Oscar win last year for Silver Linings Playbook and nomination this year for American Hustle is covered in Fame: Jennifer Lawrence, which has been created by writer Michael Troy and artist Ben Eargle.

"Jennifer Lawrence is a true inspiration as a talented actress and a down to earth young woman with amazing wit. I was happy to tell her tale," Michael said.

And Ben found the 23-year-old beauty to be "animated," which fits perfectly with his illustrations: "It was a lot of fun working on the book just because Jennifer is such an interesting person. All the different actors and actresses that she has worked with provided a lot of interesting material. She's a very animated person, which works with my style!"

The comic is available for $3.99 and has also been turned into an interactive app, which is for sale via iTunes, Google Play, and the Amazon Appstore for $2.99.

Marshawn Lynch Monster 24k headphones

Marshawn Lynch, running back for the new Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks, has been spotted rocking the brand new Monster 24k headphones. In fact, Lynch was even seen dancing with himself after the Super Bowl XLVIII win in the locker room following the big win. The Monster 24k is backordered and hard to find at the moment, so we thought it was cool that Lynch was rocking a pair in the wild. You can grab yourself a pair of the $280 headphones over on the Monster Web site.

Twitter flat redesign

This morning, Twitter deployed its new site redesign, bringing the look and feel of the site up to date with modern design language tendencies. As you browse the site, you'll notice that the font is changed, your profile image and cover photo now appear at the top-left of the screen when perusing your timeline, and flat design elements are now in play. It looks good, and is a big improvement in my mind when compared to the previous design, as subtle as the changes are. It's also good to see the continuance of the flat design look that has been adopted by iOS 7, Facebook, and Windows Phone making its way through more tech companies.

All that said, it isn't enough to pull us away from our beloved Tweetbot, our preferred way of using Twitter. What about you? What do you think of the changes?

Also today, Facebook released it's new Paper app.

Facebook Paper Facebook Paper profile

Facebook has released its new Facebook Paper app, a free version of Facebook that introduces new ways of interacting with the social network. Similar to the popular Flipbook app, Facebook Paper is centered around eye-catching, full-screen images, and gesture-based navigation, bringing the topics and people you care about most to the forefront.

A product of Facebook Creative Labs, Paper looks great, and could likely replace the default Facebook app for most users, what with its magazine-style layout. To get users acquainted, Facebook Paper launches with a gesture tutorial, helping you become familiar with the new way of interacting with Facebook. It's a bold move, but it works. Facebook needs to constantly monitor the pain points that its users experience when using the service, especially on mobile. Paper solves a lot of those issues that the common Facebook user encounters in the more bloated full app, bringing a simple elegance and sense of ease with it.

Give it a shot, and let us know what you think in the comments. You can grab Paper now, for free.
