After all the and phones, Verizon launched the Motorola Devour, and Android messaging phone. We picked up a Devour to give you a look at the device, which certainly isn’t aimed at the high-end smartphone crowd. However, since the Sidekick has pretty much fell off the face of the earth, we thought the Devour would be attractive to that younger crowd that’s into text messaging but doesn’t need an overly expensive data plan. Microsoft announced the new Xbox 360 S last week at , and we were able to get our hands on one soon after to give you a look at all the goodness. As a refresher, the newly redesigned Xbox 360 is 35% thinner than the original, and features a glossy black exterior. It ships with a 250GB hard drive that’s been redesigned to fit into the new shape of the console, and it drops the memory card slots. Even better, it comes with built-in 802.11g/n Wi-Fi, so there is no need for any sort of external dongle accessory anymore. Hit the video for all the rest, but just know that you can pick up the new Xbox 360 now for $299.

Apple just released a brand new, completely redesigned Mac mini, sporting a new unibody enclosure. We quickly got our hands on the new mini, which also sports other notable improvements (SD card slot, HDMI port, upgraded NVIDIA graphics chip,) so that we could get to work on testing for our review. In the meantime, though, we figured we’d get an episode of Unboxing Live put together, so that we could give you a look at what’s in the box, and also the unit itself. Apple did a fantastic job at reducing the size of the new Mac mini, while adding a bunch of function.

When Apple introduced the latest generation of to the world, and made it known that they were able to get that LED-backlit display up to 27-inches, we knew it would not only be a gorgeous machine, but it would pretty much be right up there with a low-end Mac Pro if specced out right. We immediately picked up one of the new 27-inch iMacs to put out theory to the test, but in the meantime, we’ve got an unboxing video for you that shows off the ridiculously huge Mac, as well as the little design tweaks and changes that Apple has made to the iMac line since the previous generation.

Unboxing Live 041: Metal Gear Solid 4 Limited Edition PS3 bundle

Metal Gear Solid 4 was, arguably, the biggest release in the ‘s life cycle thus far. To commemorate the release, Konami worked with Sony on a special Limited Edition version of the Playstation 3 console. We were lucky enough to get our hands on one of the very, very rare Metal Gear Solid 4 Gun Metal Limited Edition PS3 units, and we have it here for your unboxing pleasure. As you will see, both the PS3 console and the included DualShock 3 controller are given the gunmetal treatment. We also have a bunch of special items packed in, which we go over as well.

All in all, we think this is a fantastic collectable for fans of the Metal Gear Solid franchise, the Playstation 3, or both. Unfortunately, we aren’t seeing them on sale anymore, so you may have to hit your favorite auction site if you want to grab one of these.


Unboxing Live 040: HP TouchSmart PC second gen

We were able to get our hands on one of the new TouchSmart computers recently, and were very impressed by what we saw - especially when compared to the original TouchSmart that we saw back at 2007. We unbox the new TouchSmart in this episode, showing off the new, sleek form factor, along with all the new wireless accessories that HP has designed to compliment the experience.

What we love most about it, aside from the cool touch screen implementation, is the fact that it is a full featured, powerful computer. Typically, all-in-one computers like these have been underpowered. Not so with the TouchSmart, which is chock-full of RAM (4GB), hard drive space (500 GB), 2.16 GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 256 MB NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS HD graphics card, and Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit edition. It even has an integrated ATSC & NTSC TV tuner with PVR and remote.

Unboxing Live 037: TokyoFlash Pimpin Ain’t Easy watch

If there’s one thing we like about Japan, it’s how their wicked cool technology meshes with their interesting pop culture preferences. We think the Pimpin Ain’t Easy watch from TokyoFlash fits into that category. In fact, just about every TokyoFlash watch meets that criteria. They go out of their way to come up with some of the most interesting ways of telling time that we’ve seen. In this episode, we give you the rundown on the Pimpin Ain’t Easy watch. It features 72 lights, which make it nice and bright. The time is read by reading the hours on the left hand side, and the minutes on the right. It takes a little getting used to, but it’s definitely an attention-grabber.


Unboxing Live 036: HP Pavilion DV6885SE Special Edition notebook

We open up the Pavilion DV6885 notebook in this edition of Unboxing Live. We were completely amazed back when we saw it at , because of what we consider to be the machine’s striking beauty. If you are looking for a computer that goes against the status quo in the looks department, check this one out. The copper finish (which I believe is officially called “Clay” by HP) is as against the grain as you are going to get - plus, the specs aren’t too shabby either.
