We've just got our hands on one of the new entry-level Amazon Kindle units that were part of the big Kindle announcements made by Jeff Bezos a couple of days ago, and we're definitely liking what we're seeing. The new Kindle is very noticably smaller and lighter than the previous generation (now known as the Kindle Keyboard,) and costs just $79 (with special offer screensavers.) This year, 2011, was no exception.
Of all the things I picked up at the various booths, there was one that really stood out for me and I stumbled across it by accident while lurking around the Image Comics area.
Marineman: A Matter Of Life And Depth by Ian Churchill (Cable, Deadpool, The Coven).
Churchill had a spot to himself and was selling trades, individual issues, and sketches.
He’s a charming, affable guy who genuinely believes in his story and his work.
He handsold me on the trade - I’d only heard of the in passing and yet I gladly handed over the $15 to get a copy.

Bleeding Edge TV 392: Belkin Bluetooth Keyboard Folio for iPad 2

We chat with Belkin about their Keyboard Folio in this episode, shot at GDGT Seattle 2011. The Belkin Keyboard Folio is a Bluetooth iPad 2 keyboard that folds into a case. The keys are TruType, which means that they aren't mushy like a lot of other iPad keyboards, and instead feel like real laptop keys. When you're done, the keyboard tucks away, and the folio acts as a protective case. It also has adjustable angles to maximize viewing and typing modes. You can grab one for $99.

Bleeding Edge TV 385: Logitech C910 HD Pro Webcam review FAIL

In this episode, we attempt to review the Logitech C910 HD Pro webcam. According to the package, it's a webcam that records in up to 1080p, and is compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems. We start recording using the iSight camera built right in to the Apple Cinema Display, and then we decide to switch recording to the C910 to show the difference in video quality. We were running Mac OS X Lion, the day after it was released. Witness the failure.
We asked Logitech what was up, and all they could tell us was that a future software upgrade would be released, however, they couldn't give any sort of timeframe for when we should expect it.

Clingo review: Mount your smartphone anywhere with ease

Buying a new cell phone or smartphone leads to the inevitable purchase of a new set of accessories. Car mounts, docks, and other add-ons tend to work with only one particular phone, leaving you with a slew of stands and cases lying around.
Allsop hopes to change that with Clingo, its line of universal wireless accessories. Not just your average mount or stand, each of the Clingo accessories uses an adhesive to keep your device in place, but it doesn't leave any residue behind. The company claims the sticky stuff will hold any device as long as it isn't in a case, won't leave any residue, and will stay sticky as long as you rinse it off periodically.
