Apple releases iTunes 10.2.1, iOS 4.3 next

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Apple, Music, Software,
Less than a week after Apple released iTunes 10.2 with iOS 4.3 sync support, an update has arrived that seems to lack any new features.
At Apple's iPad 2 reveal last week in San Francisco, CEO Steve Jobs said iOS 4.3 would be available on March 11, the same day the second-generation tablet will go on sale. In anticipation of the update to the mobile platform as well as the new tablet, Apple released iTunes 10.2 last Friday. Then on Tuesday, Apple handed out iTunes 10.2.1, which contained the exact same description as iTunes 10.2.
The update is seemingly identical to the 10.2 version of iTunes, which has an improved version of Home Sharing that lets users stream content from their iTunes library between computers and to an iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 (GSM), or iPod touch (third and fourth generation), as long as the device running the iOS 4.3—which means users will have to wait until Friday to take advantage of beefed-up Home Sharing.

Glee: Let’s Sing About Sex

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Music, Prime Time, FOX, Gossip, Video,
Not all of our spoilers panned out (TV producers are tricky, tricky animals), but all our expectations were met on Tuesday’s “Sexy” Glee episode. The episode highlighted the tricky world of romantic and sexual relationships, a topic that sorely needed to be addressed.
In the past, the show has portrayed teen sex as a matter of course, presenting the only consequence to be an unwanted pregnancy that tidily disappears in less than a year. Not this time. With the help of Gwyneth Paltrow, the students at William McKinley began to get a sexual education… erm, set to music.

Broadway Spider-Man Delayed Again, Overhaul Upcoming

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Movies, Rumors,
One day, this whole thing is going to become a movie. If only Shakespeare hadn’t already taken the title “The Comedy of Errors.” The Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark has been delayed for the fifth time… so that the entire, $65-million monster can be completely overhauled.
Say what?! The show has been notoriously plagued with problems, but this last decision comes as a shock. Color us surprised to learn of this recent decision to push opening back another three months -- because opening night was scheduled for March 15 two months ago.

Former Alice in Chains bassist and reality TV star Mike Starr, 44, was found dead on Tuesday in Utah.
Mike Starr became a fan favorite during his Celebrity Rehab stint, wherein he openly talked about the substance abuse problems that got him ejected from the band Alice in Chains. The musician often referred to the late Layne Staley as his best friend. He was ejected from Alice in Chains in 1993 due to his drug problems. Staley died of an overdose in 2002. Spotify hits 1 million subscribers

In an age when Internet companies are struggling to make subscription-based services a success, music service Spotify has something to celebrate. The company announced this week that it now has one million paying subscribers.
"It's a testament to our fantastic users who continue to support us and spread the Spotify word, either by telling friends or sharing some of the 200 million playlists that you've put together so far," the company wrote in a blog post.
Spotify launched in October 2008 and reached 1 million users by March 2009. The service's features, however, have now prompted at least 1 million users to upgrade to Spotify's premium services.

American Idol 10: Top 24 Results

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Gossip, Video,
The first results show of American Idol 10 began with an emotional montage of the Top 24 contestants through their various audition rounds, which seemed completely unending this season. They each performed only once on the big Idol stage (and not even live), getting just one shot to make their dreams come true.
For half of them, those dreams would die before the episode was over. How we love elimination rounds.

American Idol 10: Top 12 Girls Perform

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Gossip, Video,
The second half of American Idol’s Top 24 stood up on the new stage Wednesday night. The new panel got another big introduction before they walked to their seats, and the in-house audience was giddy with excitement.
We’ve no idea why. Largely, Idol’s Top 12 Men were unimpressive (with, at best, three exceptions) on the big stage -- and they weren’t even live. All performances were taped last week, though the Thursday results will go out live in traditional Idol fashion.
Randy Jackson reminded viewing audiences that by the end of Thursday, the show will be left with a Top 10. That’s right -- a whopping 14 of them are going to be broken-hearted in less than 24 hours. “Ya gotta take it the moon today, and that’s where we’re going,” Steven Tyler told the night's performers.
