American Idol: Top 12 Revealed

American Idol Top 12

’s Top 12 is a big milestone for the show. It marks the beginning of Ford commercials, brings contestants one step closer to the summer-long Idol tour, and usually symbolizes the cutting away of dead wood. But I’ll go ahead and say it - I’m not pleased with the way it all went down. Let’s re-cap.

The night kicked off with a fantastic performance from Season 6 runner-up , who saucily performed “How Many Words.” He shared a few comments with host Ryan Seacrest before he quickly departed, so that everyone could turn their attentions to twelve empty chairs lined up on the stage.

American Idol: Top 8 Girls Give it a Go-Go

Top 8 Girls

‘s Wednesday ladies night started out with the usual nonsensical judge-host banter. Ryan Seacrest asked if Randy Jackson is “too nice” this season, then turned his attention to Paula Abdul. “The 80s was a big year for you,” he said. Guess again, Seacrest. The 80s actually encompassed an entire decade - and if you ask me, it was Madonna (not Abdul) who will for ever be the queen of those ten years. Yet, no one sang Madonna. I’m disappointed, ladies.

Randy Jackson Gives Katharine McPhee a Second Chance

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Features,

Katharine McPheeBuxom Idol contestant Katharine McPhee was dropped from her record label, but apparently reality roots run deep. Judge will help McPhee get back in the limelight with a new track on his album, where she’ll be paired with fellow Idol alum Elliott Yamin.

Okay, so I’ve heard the song…and it’s crap. Repetitive, boring, and throughout one can hear McPhee making strange, nonsensical noises. It’s called “Real Love,” one of the most uninspired titles I’ve heard, and the audio is currently making the rounds on the Internet. I warn you - don’t listen.
