Logitech has announced their Premier Edition Black Guitar Controller. The faux instrument is made of a one-piece contoured wood body, a noise dampening design on the strum bar and buttons and accents on the metal frets. Play Guitar Hero as far away as 30 feet from a Playstation 2 or 3 console for hundreds of hours before needing a recharge. Look for it in the U.S. this month for $199.99 and in Europe in June.

Logitech Cooling Pad N100, Notebook Riser N110

Logitech has announced two new accessories for your notebook. The Cooling Pad adds extra airflow with a slotted surface and a USB fan. The N100 utilizes rear air intake and its enclosed construction protects from damage or dust. It will be out this month for $29.99. The Notebook Riser does what its name implies and can also be used with peripherals. It can be used at a 20, 30, or 40% angle and has a rubber-soled swivel base. The N110 will be available in May, also for $29.99.

Logitech To Cut Jobs

Yet another company is suffering from the bad economy. Logitech announced that sales were down in Q3 2009. Sales amounted to $627 million, a decrease of 16% compared to $744 million in the same quarter last year. In addition to them reducing their operating expenses, they will be cutting back about 600 employees. The beleaguered company will be restructuring over the next year and has hopes that it will see results beginning in 2010.

Logitech Comfort Lapdesk

Logitech took a study and found that 60% of people using laptops do so on the couch, so they decided to create a Comfort Lapdesk. It features a 4-layer heat shielding, a 12 º angled riser and is made of soft air-mesh fabric with a cushioned base. Compatible with PC and Mac notebooks with up to a 17-inch display. The Lapdesk will be out in Europe in January and will hit the States in February. Look for a price of $39.99.

Logitech Sells Its Billionth Mouse

Yesterday, Logitech announced that it shipped its billionth mouse, although it hasn’t gone very far as yet. Around since the 80’s, the company claims that it sells 7.8 million per month in about 100 countries. To celebrate the event, Logitech is backing a contest that allows anyone to follow Billie the mouse’s journey and try to figure out where it will end up. You can follow the fun on their BLogitech site where, if you answer a question correctly, may land you a MX1100 Cordless Laser Mouse.
