I mean, how often do we see those commercials on TV where a guys surprises his girl with some sort of diamond-encrusted piece of jewelry, which then portrays the woman to be just about the happiest person on earth? Paris Hilton To Catch a Thief?

Paris Hilton has adopted the role of Nancy Drew, saying she has an idea of who might have committed the recently-reported theft in her California home.
“I think whoever did this, definitely has been there before,” Hilton spoke in an interview with E! on the subject. “We have some suspects that I’m thinking of.”
Reportedly, around $2 million in jewels and other items was taken from the heiress. The burglar entered the home wearing gloves and a hoody, walking right in through the front door.
“You know, it’s just an invasion of privacy and it’s happened to me before,” she admitted. “It’s really scary, but they’re doing a huge investigation on this and we’re going to catch this person.”
Don’t bet on it. Most home burglaries go unsolved.
Hilton has “upped” her security following the crime, but she’ll still be able to receive her property - if the thief should decide to give it back. “They just have to anonymously have a taxi drop it off in my front gate in a box with my jewelry and everything - they won’t get in trouble,” she offered. “But if all this goes on for much longer, they’re going to get in more trouble,” Hilton threatened.

Paula Abdul on the HSN

Obsessed with American Idol? In love with Paula Abdul designs? Or do you just want another reason to watch the Home Shopping Network? Now you can combine all these passions - and get some new jewelry, to boot.
According to Paula Abdul, she personally designs jewelry for each contestant on Idol. But the judge doesn’t stop there - anyone can see her designs if they just look hard enough. “I pretty much wear my jewelry all the time now, but I end up giving it away,” Abdul recently explained. She started making the jewelry back in 2002, when Idol first hit (and took over) the TV scene.
“I wanted something the kids could touch and feel to remind themselves that their talent got them here,” Abdul explained. The judge is no stranger to home shopping. Paula previously made a foray into QVC, selling some of her jewelry collection to home-buying fans.
Her new line, Forever Your Girl, will first appear on Saturday and feature products ranging from $29 to $200 (USD) in price.

Someone Ryders Away with Winona’s Jewels

Winona Ryder is being investigated by police after a theft resulted in the loss of jewels worth $125,000. The rocks were Winona’s…kinda.
A diamond-encrusted Bulgari bracelet and ring, on loan to the actress for her use during a Marie Claire magazine party, have mysteriously come up missing in Spain. The actress (who has been almost totally off the radar for the last several years - who the hell decided to give her jewelry?) was convicted in 2001 of shoplifting. This is in no way related to this current jewel threat, but does bear mentioning.
Police involved with the case have not commented. Reps for Ryder have likewise offered no comment - giving the press free reign to speculate wildly. Let the gossip begin.

For the November issue of Essence magazine, singer Beyonce Knowles finally opens up about her April wedding to Jay-Z.
In the interview, Knowles explains why she was against a big traditional wedding (“It’s been my day so many days already”) and why she didn’t want an engagement ring:
“People put too much emphasis on that. It’s just material and it’s just silly to me.”
Uhhh….is this coming from the same person currently sporting a $5 million dollar ring?

Sometimes pictures - or massive pieces of jewelry - really do speak louder than words.
Even though Beyonce and Jay-Z have not yet acknowledged their April nuptials, the Dreamgirls star has slowly been confirming the news her own way.
In the past few weeks, the singer has occasionally been seen with a very large rock on her ring finger. The flawless 18 carat gem - designed by Lorraine Schwartz - is valued at a whopping $5 million.
I guess someone won’t be needing to worry about the financial crisis anytime soon.

I have not updated my site for a long while-I have many excuses and some you may think are great ones, but for the most part, I have just been lazy/unmotivated/indifferent. There have been many developments in my life since my last post but with this particular post I am going to use to shamelessly plug my sister-in-law to be, Irulan's new business venture with her mother.
I am giving them a shout-out because they are both beautiful women with wonderful talents that led them down the road to becoming partners in their chosen venture. Also, because like my husband, they have decided to turn their passion into a business they can nurture into a way of living--financially, and most importantly personally, because it allows the both of them to work as their own bosses and set their own schedules while channeling their artistic energies into discovering rare antique jewelry and keepsakes or crafting their own one-of-a-kind pieces. I love the passion of an entrepreneur's heart--go figure--so can only wish them the best of luck and hope that my post will help get their brand out to the masses.😊
