Lindsay Lohan Scores Another Fashion Gig
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, News, Rumors, Women, Accessories,
UPDATE: Pascal Mouawad tells WWD that the collaboration is “not happening.” Oops on Lindsay!
In extremely troubling and mind-boggling fashion news, Lindsay Lohan has actually been hired for another fashion gig, this time in the jewelry department.
Aside from the fact that fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro slammed Lohan for sucking his former house of its soul, did we all forget about those few photo shoot instances where jewelry went missing? I daresay that she’s got some convincing people working for her!
Word around the fashion town says that the hard partying starlet is teaming up with Pascal Mouawad to design a jewelry line for Bebe (first the Kardashian sisters, now Lindsay!). Mouawad recently aided Nicole Richie with her own jewelery collection for the San Francisco-based retailer—one would think that they’d spread these things out.
“Pascal and I are actually working together, we’re doing something with a friend who owns bebe. We’re doing a collection for them and we’re also going to be doing some other things,” Lindsay dished.
Can Mouawad help this poor soul who has clearly lost track of her career path?

Nicole Richie Designs Jewelry for Bebe
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, News, Sales, Women, Accessories,
Nicole Richie is jumping on the Kardashian sisters’ bandwagon, creating a credit-crunch friendly jewelery collection for Bebe.
The reality TV star - who recently gave birth to her second child, Sparrow James Midnight Madden, and has a 21-month-old daughter Harlow with partner Joel Madden - has managed to find time to produce an exclusive collection of House of Harlow 1960 jewels for the retail chain’s online store.
The jewelery - which comes at an affordable price, with items ranging from $38 - has a hippy vibe and is in a similar style to her fashion line, House of Harlow 1960. The 28-year-old socialite also teamed up with the retailer to create a $25 bracelet where a percentage of the sales will go to the Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation, which helps bring more opportunities to disadvantaged children around the world.
The jewelery line will be launched and sold on Bebe.com starting November 12.
Richie recently launched her own womenswear label Winter Kate - taking inspiration from daughter Harlow’s middle names - and spoke of her desire to make fashion accessible for everyone: “That was my philosophy when designing House of Harlow 1960, and it remains my philosophy for Winter Kate.”
Lindsay Lohan’s Good Luck Charms
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers,
Lindsay Lohan designs jewelery to keep her family safe. The actress-turned-fashion designer has created a string of glitzy accessories for her mother Dina to wear for good luck when they have to embark on long-haul flights without each other.
Dina - who was wearing a diamond ring on her engagement finger - said:
“Lindsay actually designed this ring. She’s designing jewelery, and she put this on my finger. We have a thing - when my girls leave the airports and we leave each other, we put things like a Kabbalah bracelet or the Eye of the Blessed Mother on each other. So she put this on me the last time she left. She designed this ring, and this necklace as well. And I gave her what I was wearing. It’s like a family thing to fly safe. Ain’t it corny?”

Amber Rose Sports Lip Ring

Amber Rose appeared at Milan Fashion Week on Kanye West‘s arm. Nothing too different, aside from her latest face jewelry.
The budding catwalk queen sported a lip piercing on the middle of her bottom lip. Not the usual fashion model fare, but Amber’s not the typical model.
What do you think of her new look?

Daisy Lowe for Swarovski
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Fashion Designers, Models, Sales, Women, Jewelry,
Now that fashion designers are on television, it’s no surprise that models like Daisy Lowe are branching out, creating a jewelery range with Swarovski.
The British model has teamed by with the luxury crystal company for a capsule line which will be available from January.
She told W: “It’s four pieces—a necklace, bracelet, ring and set of earrings. They’re kind of magical in a dark, romantic way. I’ve incorporated black and white, star and moon crystals, and multiple strands of chains. I wanted it to be about the earth, moon, and planetary movements, all that kind of weird stuff.”
The 20-year-old star, who has modeled for Chanel, Vivienne Westwood and Agent Provocateur, also refused to rule out creating a clothing collection, but admitted she has no immediate plans to do so: “I’m so in love with fashion and playing with clothes, so I would never say no to designing fashion.”
Daisy isn’t the only model to show an interest in creating accessories—last month, Amber Le Bon revealed she was considering going to university to study jewelery making. She said, “You have to take every opportunity you can. I have loads of designs on paper and there is a really good jewelery course at London’s Central Saint Martins. A friend of mine has just graduated from there, so I may look into that.”
Daily Deal: Vintage Miriam Haskell Pearl and Boxchain Necklace
Posted by Katie Gutierrez Painter Categories: Fashion,
Today’s deals come in the form of interesting multi-strand pearl necklaces, which I’ve been obsessed with lately. They’re a modern, young way to rock this classic gemstone—a far cry from Sandra D.! I’d wear them with a casual, soft, slightly loose white t-shirt, gray skinny jeans, and—of course—a great heel; I’m thinking black patent platform peep-toes. Add a metallic clutch and a little liquid liner, and you’re good to go! Enjoy!
Designer Deal
I’m loving this vintage Miriam Haskell baroque pearl, boxchain, and rhinestone necklace—a gorgeous piece that evokes the feeling of pulling a forgotten treasure from your stylish grandmother’s jewelry box. Haskell is known for stunning, hand-crafted jewelry, and is also the powerhouse behind department store jewelry lines O Oscar (by Oscar de la Renta) and Kenneth Cole. Similar designs are priced on her site for $700, but you can find this necklace at rubylane.com for $325.
Look-alike Steals:
We have two look-alike steals today! The first is this Betsey Johnson long, five-strand necklace with faux pearls, gold tone, and crystal accents. We all know Betsey Johnson for her bright, offbeat, always feminine and joyful clothing line that isn’t entirely wearable for a lot of women. This necklace, however, is very wearable—and adorable. Even better, it’s 20% off on Zappos for a total of $103.
Now, check out this Kenneth Jay Lane piece for
QVC. A couple of obvious differences: We’re working with a gunmetal finish here and a bit of a shorter length—the nine strands fall around 20”. I love Kenneth Jay Lane for his affordable but still high-end, feminine, and unique designs. This is no exception. Retailed at $95, the necklace is on sale at QVC for $69.50.
Happy shopping!

Mother’s Day Gifts: Ann Klein Watch at Zappos
Posted by Monica Edwards Categories: Women, Accessories, Jewelry,
It is rare these days to see anyone wearing a watch unless they are the business suit type-men and women alike. We all carry cell phones so once our old watches died, we just never replaced them. If your mother is anything like me, I used to love wearing a watch, felt naked without one, but just never got around to replacing mine. It is important for busy moms to stay on schedule with all of the activities our children are involved in so why don’t we wear watches anymore?
Now, check out this Anne Klein watch that we found on Zappos. Casual, yet stylish; and at $69 and free shipping, I think it is a very affordable gift that keeps on giving. This watch has a genuine leather band that comes in pink and orange with a silver face. I love both colors, pink for the softer feminine side of me and orange for when I am feeling bold and need a color that snaps. Your mom (or, you) is sure to love either with its classic designer label that says you paid less than she thinks.
Be sure to get out the other selections in our Mother’s Day gift series!
