Jay-Z ‘Wasn’t Really a Performer’

Jay-Z "wasn't really a performer" when he started out.
The rap titan may be one of the most sought after headliners in the world, playing for thousands of fans every night on tour, but when he started out in the early 90s, he wasn't so great live, according to fellow rapper Chuck D of Public Enemy:
"Everyone starts a novice. I remember a number of years back telling a reporter Jay-Z wasn't really a performer, he just recorded songs and the record company released them. But in the last three or four years, Jay-Z has really come into his own live. That gets respect from me. Another guy who's found himself in the last few years is Snoop Dogg. In the early years I thought there was a lot of hype behind these guys. But playing live, you've got to work that s**t."

Coldplay Close Paralympic Games

Coldplay closed the Paralympic Games last night. The "Paradise" group performed a 15 song set at the closing ceremony of the games at the Olympic Stadium in London.
The group took to the stage with "Us Against the World" before launching into one of their most recognizable anthems, "Yellow." Later in the set the band - Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland and Will Champion - were joined by Rihanna for their single "Princess of China." After her first guest spot they performed "Strawberry Swing" with The British Paraorchestra, before Rihanna returned for a rendition of her single "We Found Love."

Jay-Z Wants a Baby Boy

"Beyonce definitely wants more kids. Jay wants a boy next so they can have one of each. They're ready for a baby whenever it happens," a source told Us Weekly.
Meanwhile, Beyonce's stylist Raquel Smith says the star's style is more casual since giving birth because it is more practical for a busy mother. "She's revealing a more relaxed side with flats and mid-heels. She's doing more baggy printed pants, loose tees and blazers," she said.
However, her other stylist Ty Hunter insists she won't let motherhood stop her from being sexy. "When Beyonce gets dressed these days, her goal is to show people you can be a mom and still be sexy," he said.

The rapper is set to join Coldplay and his protege Rihanna at the event in London on Sunday after the British band's frontman Chris Martin approached him. "Jay-Z and Chris Martin are close friends so he helped to get the rapper on board. They are putting together a spectacular set list - one likely to include a duet. It's going to be one hell of a show and fans of both artists will be trying to get tickets. The Paralympics has exceeded all expectation and, like the rest of the world, Jay-Z has been blown away by their bravery and athleticism. This will be a concert like no other and a fantastic end to what has been the most successful Paralympics ever," a source said.
Speaking previously about the event, Chris said the band were "honored" to have been chosen. "Being asked to play at the closing celebrations for the Paralympic athletes in London is such a great honor for us. Kim Gavin and Misty Buckley are working hard to put on a spectacular Paralympic Games Closing Ceremony for the athletes and spectators in the stadium, and everyone watching around the world, and we are so happy to be involved," Chris explained.

Kim Kardashian and Beyonce Knowles "barely" speak to each other.
Despite their respective partners, Kanye West and Jay-Z, being great friends and touring together, sources claim the two women aren't close and don't really communicate when they are watching the men perform. "Kim and Beyonce barely spoke to each other. They were on opposite sides of the stage. Beyonce didn't even acknowledge [Kim] was there until the concert was almost over. [Kim] didn't make any efforts to go speak to Beyonce either," a source at the recent Made in America Festival in Philadelphia, told the New York Daily News newspaper.

Beyonce Knowles to Make a Personal Documentary

The "Crazy In Love" singer is to direct, produce and appear in the film which will include concert footage, backstage scenes and interviews with her and her loved ones about her life. The documentary will focus on the release of her 2011 album 4, as well as her marriage to Jay-Z and the birth of the couple's daughter Blue Ivy in January 2012.
The former Destiny's Child star has been presenting different Hollywood studios with 20 minutes of footage in a bid to find the right distributor. Beyonce has had experience of directing in the past thanks to her MTV mini-documentary Beyonce: Year of 4 which showed her in the studio working on new tracks.
The 30-year-old R&B superstar is now set to follow in the footsteps of Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus with the fly-on-the-wall concert movie. The star teased fans on her official website in July with a cryptic message, "Leave Your Footprint On 19 August 2012," which could be linked to the documentary.
Beyonce and Jay-Z Plan Road Trip With Gwyneth and Chris

Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z are planning to holiday in a mobile home with Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow. The superstar couples have decided to take a low-key vacation with their kids after Jay-Z and Chris finish up their grueling respective world tours and have chosen Florida as the perfect road trip destination.
"The two couples are planning a trip around Florida. Both Chris and Jay have been on intense world tours so they really need a break. Gwyneth and Beyonce think the jaunt, going back to nature on a high-end Winnebago, will be the ideal getaway. It will be low-key but it's just what they need and they'll get to spend quality time together," a source told The Sun.

Jay-Z and Kanye West to Make Another Album

The duo - who are currently on a joint European tour - are planning to return to the studio to work on another record following the success of last year's Watch The Throne.
"It's not started yet, but it's coming," producer Mike Dean promised.
In December, Jay admitted he was keen to record with Kanye again, but only after they'd each returned to their solo projects: "It depends on how this thing finishes up. We - I say 'we' because I'm in Throne mode - we're in a great place creatively. You might see a Jay, then Kanye and a Throne album next year. You know, we're really in a great place creatively. We really found our zone."

Kanye West Leads BET Awards

The "Stronger" rapper's Watch the Throne project with Jay-Z dominated nominations, earning nods in the Best Group, Collaboration, and Viewer's Choice categories, while its videos to "N****s in Paris" and "Otis" both got nods for Video of the Year.
Following Kanye is Jay-Z's wife, Beyonce Knowles, who is up for six trophies including Best Female R&B Artist, Best Collaboration for "Party" with J. Cole and two Video of the Year nods for her songs "Countdown" and "Love on Top" from her 4 album.
Rapper Big Sean was excited to learn he is up for three awards, including Best Male Hip Hop Artist. He told "It's perfect. My grandma gonna be watching, my mom, my family, the whole city. It's just tight that I can represent those people, everybody who had that dream, everybody who used to ride to school listening to their idols, now I'm with them. It's just tight that I can show people that it's possible," he told MTV.

Kim Kardashian Annoyed at Kanye’s Partying

But Kim - who has already banned girls from going backstage at Kanye's gigs - took him away from dancefloor as she was not impressed with the "Gold Digger" hitmaker showing other revelers more attention than her.
"Kanye was loving it on the dancefloor with Jay-Z and spoke at length to Stella about fashion. Kim was all over Kanye at the start, but when he started to mix with other people she had a stern word and took him away from the party. He followed her orders with minimum fuss. He knows the deal," a source said.
