New iPad (3rd generation) review

The new iPad. When the third-generation Apple slate was announced, it gained a few new features, but lost a number. Hey, you can't blame Apple for simplifying things, right? Really, though, the new iPad is anything but a simple machine.
When Apple announced the new iPad, the company focused on a few key features that set the third-generation model apart from the iPad 2. The iPad product line is such a runaway success, that we felt it would be more appropriate to focus our review on the things that've changed or been added. After all, the iPad 2 is still a capable tablet, and Apple's still selling it, now at a discounted $399 for the 16 GB model, while the new iPad starts at $499 (although you can get it for less on Amazon.) So let's focus on what the new iPad (3rd generation) brings to the table, and if it's worth your attention. We're talking about things like the Retina display, 4G LTE, A5X SoC processor with quad-core graphics, and dictation. Is that stuff enough to warrant your attention? MAD Magazine is delightful on the iPad

MAD Magazine is now available on an iPad near you. The iPad app will allow users to interact with the standard magazine content, as well as access to exclusive stuff specific to the app. The app is free to download, and has free teaser content from the current issue.
MAD Editor John Ficarra jokingly stated, “We’re delighted to bring MAD to the iPad. We think the MAD app may be just the thing to turn the struggling iPad around and make it successful –though most experts think it may be just the thing that kills it altogether.”
The MAD app will feature interactive and animated versions of all currently issues, along with a library of back issues and books. Prices of the content will range from $1.99 for back issues to $4.99 for the current issue--however, if you subscribe to the magazine, the price drops to $1.99 per issue, or $9.99 for a full year (six issues.) Aside from the actual magazine, the app will allow users to access MAD’s blog “Idiotical.”

Video: iPad (3rd generation) quad-core gaming review

In this video, we give you a look at the graphics power of the new iPad. The iPad (3rd generation) ships with the A5X processor, which is a dual core chip with a quad-core graphics processor on-board. We demo a few games that take advantage of this added graphics power, including: Sky Gamblers Air Supremacy, Real Racing 2 HD, and Infinity Blade II - all of these titles shows off the Retina display and quad-core graphics amazingly. In this episode of Unboxing Live, we give you a look at the new 2012 Apple TV. The main feature of the updated Apple TV is that it can display 1080p content. iTunes has been updated to support the 1080p resolution as well, which makes renting and buying content from iTunes at the highest quality look great on the new Apple TV and the new iPad as well. Netflix has also been updated to stream 1080p with the new device, which is powered by a single-core A5 processor. You can pick up the new Apple TV for $99.

Video: iPad (3rd generation) Dictation review

We gave you a look at the new iPad Retina display in our last video, and now we're here to show off the DIctation feature. Dictation allows you to speak your words to the iPad while it listens and attempts to turn your words into text typed into the app your using. As you can see in the video, Dictation is easy to use (it's right on the keyboard, next to the space bar,) but it doesn't always get everything perfect. You also need to remember to speak your punctuation when using the feature. It's definitely convenient, and easy to go in and clean up any mistakes after the fact. The new iPad (3rd generation) was released two weeks ago, and in that time, Apple has already sold millions. The biggest and best feature of the device is the high resolution Retina display. When you compare it against the original iPad and iPad 2 displays, it's apparent that it's a big step up from what we've had before. In fact, it's the highest resolution display ever shipped on a portable device. We give you a look at the iPad (3rd generation) focusing on the Retina display in this, the first in a series of videos where we will focus on a major feature of the new iPad.

We open up the brand new iPad (3rd generation) in this episode. The new iPad (or iPad 3, as some call it) from Apple features an amazing Retina display, A5X processor with quad-core graphics, and optional 4G LTE from Verizon or AT&T. It's a nice upgrade from the previous iPad 2, and is the best tablet for the money that you can get today. In fact, you can get one right now from Apple. All you'll find in the box is the iPad tablet itself, along with a sync cable and AC adapter for charging, and that's really it. Not much to this one, but not to worry, we'll have plenty more iPad (3rd Generation) videos for you soon, including some LTE speed tests.

Angry Birds Space is now available to download!
Hey, all you Angry Birds lovers out there. We know that it's been a while since a new version has dropped, and that you've probably moved on to Draw Something, but it's time for you to take a another look, because Angry Birds Space is now available on multiple platforms. Space? Yes. The confines of the gravitational pull of the Earth no longer apply here, so your birds can get their space physics on while trying to destroy evil pigs.
