The Hills

MONDAY (12/10)
  • (ABC, 8pm):  “Linus and Lucy’s little brother, Rerun, hangs with Snoopy and his own sibling, the desert-dwelling Spike.”  Was I the only one not aware of the What’s Happening!/Peanuts crossover episode?
  • (CBS, 8pm):  “Ted asks his doctor on a date and his friends try to discourage him from dating someone he sees regularly.”  Relationships clearly work best when you never see them at all.
  • (ABC, 9:30pm):  “Lauren tries to convince her sister to move to LA so she can be nearby when the baby is born.”  Lauren’s sister isn’t stupid.  She knows what ‘be nearby’ means.
  • (MTV, 10pm): Season finale.  “Lauren gets an offer to go to Paris.”  I really hope doesn’t take their version of quality programming overseas (again).  The French hate us already.

‘Sex and the City’ Trailer

Sex & the City screenshot: wedding dressThe Sex and the City movie trailer has finally arrived, and it’s just as promising and exciting as fans could want. It begins with a voice-over and a wide, sweeping view of Manhattan, then quickly falls into an image free-for-all while the theme music blares invitingly. Quick screenshots flash past, showing images inside Carrie’s apartment, the four girls walking together, and a photo shoot where Carrie sports the much-touted wedding dress. As the music ends, the final scene shows a steamy kiss between Carrie and Mr. Big. All of it leads up to the promise that the movie will debut May of 2008.

New York City mayor, Michael Bloomberg, will play himself in the movie, which is set primarily in Manhattan. The mayor will appear at Bryant Park in Manhattan for a night scene, but the mayor’s camp isn’t releasing any more details than that. Filming on the movie began in September, and recent shots from the set show that at least some part of the movie will take place in winter. Dennis Miller Set to Host Amne$ia

Dennis MillerYes folks, here comes another show from . This guy has more winning ideas in five minutes than most of us have in a lifetime. I’m convinced of it anyway. So, what is Amne$ia... and why can’t I remember anything about the premise? OK, that was a lame attempt at interjecting an amnesia joke in there. I admit it. Lame. Amne$ia is an game show that challenges the contestants’ memories. Sounds pretty average, right? Don’t a large bulk of TV game shows challenge the memory? Ah yes, perhaps about history or pop culture… but not Mark Burnett’s little gem. This show will actually question contestants about memories from their own past. Doesn’t that seem kind of easy, because, you know—it will be memories from the contestant’s own history? is set to host—and I think most folks either love Dennis or hate him. I am firmly in the love category since I adored him on Saturday Night Live‘s Weekend Update and thought his HBO show was pretty great too. No doubt that he’ll bring a funny edge to the program. Amne$ia will debut on NBC later this season. Heck, it’s worth tuning into anyway—count me in.
