Blackberry Facebook Goes Mobile

RIM has released Facebook for Blackberry Smartphones. Announced at the CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment show in San Francisco this week, T-Mobile will be the first to utilize the software application. You can do everything that Facebook offers including sending and viewing messages, instant message notification, poking, making new friends, and uploading. You can also set a unique ringtone alert. Free to download, remember that data charges may apply. By the way, our DIY purplish Sonic was made in one of Facebook’s applications. That’s reason enough to sign up.

Blackberry Hits 10 Million Mark

Blackberry devotees, take heart. The Canadian firm Research in Motion claims a net profit of $287.7 million through September 1, as opposed to the same period in 2006, in which they made $140.2 million during the second quarter. The company claims that the jump was due to new global users that helped it beat the 10 million mark, as it added another 1.45 million subscribers. RIM believes that their profits will continue to rise and beat their market targets for the rest of year.

With them you can get news feeds, traffic reports, store locators, games, sports, daily cartoons, and more. Around since 2006, Plusmo now has more than 20,000 widgets created by users and you can get yours by downloading and registering from your iPhone, Blackberry, cell phone, or other mobile device. The service, currently available in beta service, also allows you to create your own widget and share with others.

Research in Motion Unveils BlackBerry 8800

With all the cell phones and smartphones out there flaunting the latest innovations, choosing the right one can be a daunting process. Research in Motion just made that decision even harder (or perhaps easier depending on your view) when it introduced the new BlackBerry 8800 at the 3GSM World Congress, a showcase for state-of-the-art wireless devices. While targeted toward the corporate crowd, the 8800—the slimmest corporate Blackberry yet—includes such consumer-friendly features as a media player that supports MP3 and AAC audio as well as MPEG-4 and H.263 encoded video files, and a microSD slot for music and video storage. The smartphone also contains a QWERTY keyboard, trackball, GPS software and Bluetooth capability.
The 8800 is a quad-band GSM/GPRS and supports EDGE - but oddly enough, leaves out HSDPA. That means that while the phone is slick, you won’t be doing any broadband surfing or downloading. It also has a built-in GPS chip, which means it can give you directions and support other location-based applications right out of the box.
The BlackBerry 8800 will be available this month, with pricing yet to be announced.

Digby is a really cool app that lets you shop for all sorts of stuff from your BlackBerry without having to use the browser. It has a local catalog with flowers, chocolates, books, cds, dvd, etc,.. including search capabilities for stuff not already in the catalog. It links up with the address book and the calendar so you can buy and ship stuff to yourself or anyone in my address book without having to rekey info that is already on my BlackBerry. Digby is a free download and the products are at the same price as they are on the vendors normal website.
So there you have it, for all you BlackBerry owning shopoholics out there, Digby might be just the thing you needed to push your credit card bill over the edge.

The ETG comes with an adapter and a pair of Energizer e2 Lithium batteries. At an MSRP of $19.99, it’s available at your favorite department, grocery, or drug store.
Energizer claims that it is compatible with 80% of cell phones now on the market, including Nokia, Samsung, Sprint, and Motorola, as well as mini USB devices developed after 2003 such as BlackBerry, SLVR, and RAZR. Now, if that bunny could just learn to catch a cell phone before it hits the ground.
